Lost i pad internet connection?

I bought an i pad 3 5 days ago and connected it ok to my router. I have had internet access ever since no problem then yesterday 5 days after connecting I lost it. My Laptop works fine and even though I am sat less than 2 feet from my i pad it is still lost. Can anyone please advise me how to overcome the problem

    Switch your router off and wait 30 seconds before you switch it on again

    Turn your iPads wifi off and also wait 30 seconds before you switch it back on

    If all else fails go and visit the apple store for some advice or search the apple forums
