    Check out this website:

    http://www.state.gov/

Your wife will be able to download a fillable Adobe PDF document (the passport application form) and she'll be able to find out where she can turn it in -- usually your nearest post office. The website will also give her the guidelines about passport photos, which post offices will do passport photos for you (there's a charge) how much it'll cost for her to get the passport, acceptable forms of payment, who to make the check/money order out to, and roughly how long it'll take from the time she turns in the application, photos and fee to when she'll receive the passport in the mail. It also goes over expedited processing and the additional charges for that.

go to your local post office and get an application and follow the directions. Or you can download one from the State Departments website.

When I just did a Google search for "US Passport" I got 19,000,000 links in 0.16 seconds. You might give that a try for starters.

It's a simple thing to get a passport, although you cannot "get it for her;" she has to do it herself.
