If something were invisible, would it cast a shadow?

If it were opaque, yes. If it were translucent, yes. If it were transparent, no. Visibility doesn't determine shadow. Whether an object blocks sunlight or not does.

It depends on how the something is invisible. If light passes through or wraps around the something, then it will not cast a shadow. If it is made invisible via some sort of projection technology (i.e. an image from one side is reproduced on the other side), then it would probably create a shadow. However, this shadow would likely be obscured or hidden. Camouflage would leave a shadow, but this shadow should be hidden by the shadow of the base object.

Possibly. Invisible means "not visible". It depends on how this is achieved. Modern tech advancements include stealth cloaks which take what is behind the object and project it in front of it - these things would still cast a shadow from a light source in front of them. Another tech move for invisibility is to counter act the light waves reflected from an object with their opposite - this would also leave a shadow. The idea of bending visible light around an object to achieve invisibility would not create a shadow.

No.
If something casts a shadow, then it blocks visible light. And if something blocks visible light, then it is not invisible. Being difficult to see is not the same thing as invisible. Being camouflaged is not the same thing as invisible. Imaginary is not the same thing as invisible (imaginary things like "spirit creatures" do not cast shadows in real life).

Why do you ask this on R&S?
The answer is no. Think of perfectly clear glass (which is almost invisible.) Light goes through it so no light is blocked to cast a shadow.

No. If something is invisible, light beams are passing through it, which is why it cannot be seen, as opposed to something which is visible, in which light is being blocked by the object, which is why it has form and color. If the light is passing through an object, then shadows, which are caused by light being blocked, would not form.

there are a hundred ways to be invisible, and probbably half of them would cast a shadow
even if someone were to be able to walk around in another dimension while having the ability to see us, there is a gift of the spirit, like unto telepathy where a person can actually sense someone is either watching or is close nearby
p.s. personal experience with the invisible spirit of revelation

No, but it could cause a strange blindspot depending on how it lets the light form the other side slip through.
