Should Congress investigate the NCAA ?

The NCAA did nothing right in taking away Penn States records and scholarships for a non football issue. They did not even do the politically correct thing! First how does punishing innocent football players send a message to the fat-cat administrators. Second and most important fining the school $60 million is taking money for the victims! Who holds the NCAA accountable. The NCAA should be looked into by Congress.

    I think Congress should be investigated.. Most of them are there for their own personal benefit and don't give a rat's a*s about the American people.....

    Why do you ask a question, then proceed to answer it? That's a violation of YA protocol.

    First, no "innocent football players" are getting punished. There will be a program. Players who want to transfer can do so without penalty. But if you are whining about the post-season ban, why aren't you whining about "innocent football players" victimized by losing seasons?

    Second, the $60 million is coming from the profits of the football program, and will be paid off in five installments of $12 million. The rest of the school will never notice (other than all of the empty seats in the stadium).

    Third, the money is going into an endowment for protection of similar victims. You should be ashamed for objecting to this program.

    Fourth, the last time Congress examined the NCAA, their main criticism was failure to take action against members like this. So I bet they are less likely to investigate now than ever. But if you need to talk to some members of Congress, I suggest some of the certifiably crazy ones, like Rand Paul or Michele Bachmann. They are the only ones stupid enough to protest against protecting child molestation victims.

    i dont know if they will, but i wouldnt be surprised if the did. if they dont, i dont see what can be done to combat the ncaa. i mean in terms of their ruling, who would file a lawsuit other than the paternos? but i dont think they would in that they have a lot working against them (penn state signed a waiver that stated they would accept any punishment dished by the ncaa) and that out of all of this, they would look bad and bitter towards the media). while it shouldnt be a factor, public support and scrutiny would look bad. but at the same time, they would have a pretty decent case at this point.

    @art-

    1- they dont to be honest. theyre too busy being retarded monkeys f*cking over the american people. theyre currently the least productive congress in history. how could they be less productive? the 111th congress destroyed the filibuster record while the 112th isnt much more productive in its own right. congress under obama has been a joke. a large part of why the economy is still god awful and obama is painted in a bad light.

    2- they look into the ncaa in most incidents (at least recently) including the usc case and the uconn incident.
