Having trouble with my jumpshot ?

It's just soooooooo ugly. I shoot with my elbow out most of the time no matter how hard I try to keep it in. I'm shooting when my toes are barely off the ground instead of jumping and then shooting. Please tell me how to fix this, and don't say "just practice". I'm having major form problems

shoot free throws and slow down your motion, focus on mechanics. Don't worry about whether you make each shot or not just focus on keeping good form. This will improve your jumpshot a lot and keep it much more consistent.

Source(s): I used to have horrible form and changed it completely (for the better) by doing this.

Shoot with one hand(your shooting hand) from free throw and focus on keeping the elbow in.

then when you feel comfortable start putting the hand to guide the ball

don't worry about the "barely off ground" only jump when there pressure

just remeber its in the wrist and don't push the ball flick of the wrist

I must tell you that, it depends on the result, look at players like Paul Pierce who has one of the ugliest forms of all time, you must find a form that you feel comfortable with and if it gives you a good result be consistent and keep shooting ! Good Luck
