How do i reply & rate answers?

You need to be on level 2 to be able to rate answers with the thumbs.

Basically you should only use the Yahoo Email system when enabled and you can contact others who have theirs.

You can leave a message when you select a Best Answer to your questions

Y!A is not a chat room. It is a knowledge-seeking site in a question & answer format.

You have three options:

You can go to the user's profile & see if they accept IMs and/or emails. If so (and you allow them too) you can contact them that way.

You can make 'comments' when you pick your Best Answer.

You can use the 'add details' function to add additional information to make your question more complete or understandable. Be careful what you add though, you don't want to have your question reported as a chatting violation.

All levels can pick a Best Answer to their own question and can vote for Best Answer on other users' undecided questions.

If you go to your question one hour after you ask your question, a little 'select as best answer' button appears by each answer. Any time between then & when the question expires, click on the one you like best. Y!A then gives you 3 points back & gives the answerer 10 points.

If you miss your chance, the question goes into voting mode. You can still vote for the best answer, but you only get 1 point for your vote.

ok so when you look at your answer ( you can find it by clicking my activity then my questions) You can click either thumbs up or down on the answers. The to reply you can add details, or choose a best answer to thank them for there ideas and or facts :) thats all hope this helped :)

The only time you rate answers is when you choose best answer to your question. at level 2 and up you can give thumbs up or down to other member's answers but that isn't rating.

edt. to contact answrers to your questions. Yahoo Answers is not a chat site so you have to be careful not to be chatting, see the link below or you could be reported. The best way however, you could click on their avatar, if they accept ims or emails click on the appropriate one and follow the prompts. If the question is still open: click on the "edit" link below your question then "add details" add your note, preview and submit. The very best time to comment is when you choose best answer to your question.
