Can I wear shorts at all?

For 95% of my life; until last year I never wore shorts. I had a skin problem on my legs an felt uncomfortable showing my legs so I always wore jeans. Always. My skin disease has finally gone away and now I feel comfortable in jeans. Being a size 12 I feel a little uncomfortable wearing jeans no matter what fit they are. I prefer to wear shorts or dresses rather than jeans. However my mom thinks that because I'm not skinny it's inappropriate. For instance I was considering wearing shorts to the airport and my mom said that I can't wear shorts because I am bigger. That skinny girls can get away with it but not me...I told her that my size doesn't matter and anyone can wear shorts. But she refuses to wear let me wear them. Do you think that size twelves can wear shorts?

Sorry what? That is the biggest nonsense i have ever heard! Don't even listen to your mom when she says stupid stuff like that because no you are not too big to wear shorts. All that matters is that your are comfortable in them and you think you look nice. Ask your mom this, is Demi Lovato too big to wear shorts? Because she is a HEALTHY size 10/12. And remember this too, It's what suits the wearer not the stairer!! :):)

You probably have better looking legs than you THINK you do, you CAN wear shorts, because girls' legs are supposed to be seen, and not covered up.
