what does Harry Styles' new "I Can't Change" tattoo on his wrist mean?

I just saw a picture of Harry Styles' new tattoo on his wrist and I want to know what the meaning behind it is.

Now a lot of people are speculating that the tattoo refers to a lyric from the song “Bittersweet Symphony” by the Verve. Which is true, that song does say “I can’t change.”

But something entirely different occurred to me. I’m a big fan of the band Rise Against, and when I saw Harry’s tattoo I immediately thought of their song “Make It Stop.” The song is basically about homosexual kids who were bullied relentlessly and committed suicide because of it. It’s about how horrible some people can be towards kids just because they’re gay.

If you care to read the lyrics to the you’ll notice that there is a lyric in the song that says “Born me, no I can’t change.” Which is curious enough in itself. But then I saw everyone speculating that Harry placed the tattoo there as kind of a permanent replacement for his Leeds bracelet and something else occurred to me.

So I did some research, and I discovered something that shocked even me a little, because it seems way too coincidental to mean anything else:

Rise Against actually played at Leeds Fest in 2011, the same one that Harry and Louis attended.

And want to know where it gets even deeper?

Rise Against actually played the song “Make It Stop” at Leeds, in 2011, while Harry and Louis were there watching. They played a song about homosexual kids being treated wrongly, a song that includes the lyric “I can’t change” in it. We all know that the Leeds bracelet had some extreme significance to Harry. He wore it everywhere and even had to tape it until it finally, presumably, couldn’t be worn any longer.

And now, Harry has a permanent tattoo on that same wrist, in the exact same place as the Leeds bracelet, of the words “I can’t change.”

    Yeah

This entirely blew even my own mind, to be honest.

You can pass it off as a coincidence if you’d like. Before you disrespect my opinion please know that I obviously realize I could easily be entirely wrong about this. It’s simply a theory that seemed too strange to overlook and I just really wanted to throw it out there!

Harry has just gotten a new tattoo to cover the one that reads, "I can't change" on his wrist. It's an anchor and I've featured a picture down below. I don't know what the "I can't change" tattoo means, but I believe it did not relate to his sexuality. If he was trying to go behind the backs of the Modest! managing team and clue the fandom in, why would he cover it up? Management couldn't have made him cover it up- it's his body and tattoos are permanent. And if it had nothing to do with management, being homosexual doesn't just change. It's in the brain and either you are or you aren't. I don't know, I feel like he's straight kids.

Harry was getting mean comments and posts on tumblr, twitter, facebook, etc saying very "Disgusting Things" - Niall

I will send you the link to the sad video, that made me cry because Harry is really sweet and caring. But there are those people out there that are like that posting mean stuff about him. He got the tattoo right after all those mean comments were posting on "How stupid he is." or "He can't even sing." (which he can <33) He got a tattoo "I can't Change." So he is trying to say he Can't Change just cause people like them, think he sucks or whatever. But here is the video of Harry Styles from One Direction Crying :(and speaking out his feelings.

WARNING VERY SAD. ALSO EVERYONE THAT HATES HARRY KEEP IT TO YOURSELF AND STOP BULLYING!

I have followed Harry long enough and have seen him uncomfortable enough times around forced relationships to know in my heart that he is indeed not straight. Why he felt the need to cover up something so beautiful is beyond me and makes me sad for him as a person. Praying one day he will be free to love whoever he wants. He is who he is and nothing or no one will ever be able to change that.

Well that's simple isn't it ?? It means that he'll be who he actually is and won't change himself for people who hate him..... He is so sensitive that he cares what everyone thinks of him.. for example he himself said that if I get like 10 tweets that you are amazing and we love u and one tweet of we hate u , he wanna why that person hates him.. so that necessarily means he won't change himself to look better in front of people who don't like him at the moment.... HE WILL STAY WHO HE IS FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM...

"I'm not changing", it's because of Larry! Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles bromance! Harry Styles is apparently going to date I forgot her name so all the rumors about Larry can be forgotten about! But Larry will always be in directioners hearts!(:

It's a reference to his favourite song 'Bittersweet Symphony'.

Perhaps it refers to lyrics from Lynard Skynard's "Freebird."
