Why are liberals so against a voter Id requirement?
When it comes to taking the ACT test they are in favor of a photo ID requirement, but when it comes to Voting they are against it. I need some liberal to explain the difference. It pisses me off because I live in MN and all a person has to do to vote somewhere is have a person verbally vouch for them. I dated a Hispanic girl that, after a couple of weeks, told me that her sister, her mom, and her were all illegal and that she used this law to have her and a group of friends travel around to there perspective areas and vouch for each other so they could vote multiple times. Now we have this idiot Al Franken as a senator.. Her sister somehow managed to get married in Michigan and her mom works for the school system. How does this happen? I bet i could call the INS and nothing would be done.
The Story about the Girl I dated is not BS. That is exactly what she did. I know you Libs are used to BSing your way through life, but this is exactly what happened.

Voting is a constitutionally protected right. We liberals feel the requirement of a photo ID does almost nothing to combat vote fraud. Most voter fraud does not occur inside the voting booth, and the few cases that do, like the one in Kentucky, involve buying the votes of registered voters, which would not be stopped by voter ID laws. Since the voter ID laws would have little impact on stopping voter fraud, we liberals concluded that the actual intent was to block registered voters who don't have the newly required ID's, namely poorer people who typically vote Democrat.
Your details demonstrate the type of "evidence" that conservatives typically use to prove their claims of voter fraud running amok. They are so brainwashed to the belief that their ideology is "mainstream" and "popular" that conservatives believe the fact that Democrats win elections is proof that voter fraud is a widespread problem.

there is two parts to voting. 1 is getting on the registered voter list. that is where first time voters are vetted to insure they meet actual requirements, like being a citizen. this is where your example runs amok, an illegal would not be able to show citizenship to get on a voter roll in the first place. 2. once on the list of voters, the ID laws now want you to prove your status all over again when going to the polling place. the expressed reason for this is they want to prevent someone from impersonating a legitimate registered voter. The defect in the law is the poll workers don't have a picture of the registered voter to compare the ID presented as being the same person. So it does nothing to prevent fraud at all. But it does disenfranchise people who have voted previously and now go to the polls without one of the 6 items of approved ID. The people so affected are not a random selection of the electorate but rather predominately the old, the poor, students and minorities. these are people that don't have easy access to the documents or are not likely to be informed about recent changes in voting law. and by the way, i believe you deserve Al Franken, he is watching your back.

What fraud is the photo ID going to prevent? Sorry, but your story about the girlfriend who, for no particular reason, went around to commit a felony and vote illegally while being an illegal and trying to stay under the radar is completely made up BS. At least try and pose an honest argument.
What cases of fraud have been discovered? Which ones would have been stopped by these laws. How many cases would be stopped. Does stopping those rare instances that have zero effect on elections justify disenfranchising thousands or millions of legal, legitimate voters?
In the lawsuit in Pennsylvania the state, defending their voter ID signed an agreement stipulating (conceding) the following, before the case begins -
#1) They are unaware of any cases where an investigation found or convicted anyone of in-person voter fraud in their state.
#2) They are unaware of any investigations that have uncovered cases or gotten convictions in any other states.
#3) They are not going to make the argument that their voter ID requirements would prevent any such cases in their state.
And, remember, this is the side that is DEFENDING the voter ID law.
This has nothing to do with preventing fraud, and everything to do with preventing particular legitimate, legal groups of voters that lean towards the Democrats from voting.
This is a fundamental right upon which our free society is based - the rights of the citizens to elect/choose their representative government. Taking away that right, for a problem that does not exist is a crime against everything our nation was founded upon and is supposed to stand for.
EDIT: Rrrright. Your story is so idiotic that no sane person is going to believe that someone would do that under those circumstances. Or did she realize that you are enough of a tool that you'd believe her if she made up a story that stupid?
Source(s): Estimates are that over 10% of eligible voters in Pennsylvania have been made ineligible by this law, with most not being aware of it. - ErikaLv 45 years ago
There have unquestionably been some situations at present of electorate fraud, exceptionally via the GOP, in spite of the undeniable fact that it somewhat is extra approximately alienation of specific communities of people. somewhat the undesirable, the elderly, scholars and people who artwork extra suitable than 2 jobs. enable me clarify my premise: The undesirable: maximum individuals in this class can no longer rub 2 nickels mutually, further extra waiting to pay this further tax interior the form of a voter's identity. The elderly: i'm continuously shocked at how a lot of human beings can no longer discover their delivery certificates and not have any variety of identity by using fact they have surpassed the age the place they are allowed to rigidity, subsequently no identity. student: human beings will would desire to ascertain with their very own States for this. some States won't enable student ids as information of id. people who artwork 2 or extra jobs: The GOP have lobbied to cut back the time that balloting occurs during a Presidential election; they do no longer want a repeat of 2008 whilst there have been prolonged balloting hours that allowed human beings to vote after leaving artwork at 5pm interior the night. So there you pass..my factors defined.

Really? You don't understand the difference between taking an SAT test and voting?
OK, the US constitution contains specific language regarding voting and nothing else. That makes it a unique civic act. The same document was later amended to guarantee that there would be no additional costs on the citizen in order to vote.
Making up the lie about your so-called Hispanic girlfriend doesn't really help your cause. Kinda pathetic actually.
Source(s): Surprisingly enough, the SAT's aren't listed in the constitution. - PeterLv 59 years ago
I don't think it's a liberal view, I think it's a financial one. There has only been a risk of voter fraud, there have been zero reported cases of fraud. Seems like a waste of millions of dollars per state, in the middle of a recession.
But, you're probably one of those people who are upset by the deficit, while voting to spend more.

Obviously because the fraud involved tends to tip the election results in their favor.
