  • Is this landlord overstepping his legal entitlement in MN?

Every other weekend (Friday eve to Sunday Afternoon) I usually stay at my moms place with my 6 year old daughter, mainly because it s a much nicer/bigger place than mine, and she has all her toys there. Well, last weekend I stayed there when my mom was out of town. The landlord knocked on the door cuz I accidentally parked in their space (i mis-interpreted my mom s instructions on where to park) Anyway, I appologized and immediately moved my car. to the authorized spot. Well today, the landlord was being critical to my mom about having someone there when she is out of town. Is this really any of his business being that I m there for two nights. (assuming he has no stipulation about "overnight guests" or his definition of what constitutes an "unauthorized tenant" What does MN law define as an "unauthorized tenant" I think he is just being critical because there are some repairs that need to be made and she made the landlord aware of them (i.e. rust from the washer ruining clothes)

  • Why can a cop break the law without being in the act of enforcing the law?

I see cops parked on medians, bridge underpasses, along interstate highways all the time in Minnesota...It's not like they have someone pulled over or anything...The just sit there....It would be against the law for me to do so, why not them? Can anyone site any legislation that would allow for this? or do they just feel they are above the law, revenue generators for the man.

  • So I noticed a Cop parked under a overpass bridge on the sloped embankment looking for speeders.?

So I was wondering if I get a little hungry on the way home if I could take a break and join the parked cop on the sloping embankment under the bridge. It's egg-salad, and I know I'll be hungry. Is this illegal? If so, what specific Fed/State statute gives the cop a perceived extra right to be there?

Minnesota is my state, but imput on other state statutes is fine as well.

  • On a bi-weekly pay schedule can my employer make me use overtime hours week 2 to cover PTO time in week 1?

I'm on a Bi-weekly pay schedule in MN (company falls under FLSA guidlines). Anyway, I used 3 ours of PTO in Week 1 (worked 37hrs, Used PTO for 3hrs). In week two I worked 57.5 hours. When I turned in my timecard they wanted to apply 3 hours from the 2nd week to cover the 3 hours of PTO I used the week prior. I don't want to do that. I had plenty of PTO to use and I want to use it for week one. I wan't to be paid the full 17.5 hrs of Overtime from week two. Am I wrong? Can anyone point to a legal documentation that talks about this specific issue?

  • Why do people never give details about Intel's I3, I5, and I7 chips?

There are so many people offering computer advice vice, along with people asking for buy advice and only listing that it has a I3, I5, I7 processor with out listing which model# of the I3, I5, or I7 it is. People are ALWAYS assuming the I7 is faster than an I5 an so on, but they are just dead wrong. There are I3 chips faster than I7s and I5s faster than I7s. CPU Benchmark dot net is where people should be going rather than taking advice from the so-called computer experts on here. This drives me nuts. Sorry for the rant, but people are buying a much slower computer based on this and spending way more than they need to just because it's an I7. I realize the architecture is different, but slow is slow and fast is fast.

  • Why are liberals so against a voter Id requirement?

When it comes to taking the ACT test they are in favor of a photo ID requirement, but when it comes to Voting they are against it. I need some liberal to explain the difference. It pisses me off because I live in MN and all a person has to do to vote somewhere is have a person verbally vouch for them. I dated a Hispanic girl that, after a couple of weeks, told me that her sister, her mom, and her were all illegal and that she used this law to have her and a group of friends travel around to there perspective areas and vouch for each other so they could vote multiple times. Now we have this idiot Al Franken as a senator.. Her sister somehow managed to get married in Michigan and her mom works for the school system. How does this happen? I bet i could call the INS and nothing would be done.

  • What are these Yellow Poles with whited domed caps doing in backyard of prospective property?

We are looking at a house to buy. The backyard has a downward slope. In about the middle of the backyard on the left side there are Two Yellow Poles about 5 inches in diameter, 5 feet high, with a White domed cap. What could these be? Do they indicate Flood levels or something? House is in MN and there is creek down the slop on the left side of the house.

  • How can I fix this HTML code?

I want to group these under the same name so the customer can only select one option, but when I give them the same group name the price is the price for option 1 even when adding button 3 to the cart. If I don't group them with the same group name then it works fine. Here is the code:

  • What do you think of this StarWars/Politics analogy?

It seems clear to me that the Conservatives are mirror images of the Rebel Allience and the Dems are mirror images of the Empire. I mean, conservatives always defend the republic and Libs always push for larger government, including a larger, more powerful, Central Government. Libs like to control every aspect of your life, just like the Empire and Conservatives are more Freedom orientated all around and look to apply the law equally (i.e. criminal law/Tax Law) as to avoid a slippy slope created by a ruling class. The United States was formed as a Republic and giving more power to the Central government is anti-republic in nature. (for example, making states change the way they do things or else be cut off from any federal aid. Or maybe cases where the Feds use some distorted view of the interstate commerce clause to get THEIR way). Seems pretty clear to me that Star wars is a good representation of what we have going on here in the U.S. today. Empire=Democrats Rebels=Conservatives.

  • Can I install a game I own on both my Desktop and Laptop PC?

I'm going to buy a gaming laptop to take when on the road. Do I have to buy another copy of a game I already own or can I install the same copy on both PC's? BF3, MLB2k12, etc....

  • Which of these 2 laptop setups would you go for strictly from a gaming point of view?

First off I know these are not great gaming specs, but it one or the other.

Setup #1 AMD A6-3400m (1.4Ghz/2.3Ghz Turbo) with Radeon hd 6520g

Setup #2 Intel i5-2430m (2.4Ghz/3.0Ghz Turbo) with Intel HD 3000

I absolutely know that the Radeon 6520g is almost twice as fast as the Intel HD 3000, but with the CPU performance being greater with the intel system I wanted your opinion.

Please don't suggest other models or anything like that. It's one of these for sure.

Assuming all other specs are equal. Which would you go for. Actually the CPU benchmarks for the AMD chip are not that far off from the i5 chip considering the wide diff in GHZ.

  • Have any Cops here ever written another on duty cop a ticket for something?

Just curious if there are any officers here that may have written another cop a ticket or heard of somebody doing so? Like writing a speeding ticket to a cop going to fast without his/her lights on.

  • Why are people so eager to join up with the other liberal flock of sheep?

I remember being younger and having liberalism pushed on me at school and by other nut-jobs. I thought at that time Liberalism was about freedom. Now after getting older and much wiser I absolutely 100% know it is just the opposite. Liberals stand for anything, but freedom. The liberals today have no concept of limited powers and will stop at nothing to cheat the system and encourage government intrusion into every aspect of our lives. Liberals today seem to be just a bunch of "busy-bodied, power-tripping" morons. Tax on soda, eradication of Ronald McDonald. Tax Tax Tax, Tax, spend, spend spend. Then rob the people that have most likely risked a whole lot more so that we can study whether or not poop actually tastes good to a dung beetle using a $150,000 government grant. It never stops. They hide behind things like legalizing marijuana as a show of freedom-loving, (i would support that too), but then when it really gets down to business they stomp out any possibility of individual liberty and freedom through their non-stop over-reaching legislation. We don't need a nanny state.

  • Why do Democrats have no idea what "separation of church and state" means?

It has noting to do with keeping religion out of the public sector. It deals with government establishing a sponsored religion to put it simply. Any religious figure should be able to debate the issues just like everyone else. liberals will never understand this. Just like they believe there is a "pursuit of happiness" clause in the Constitution. No, this was mentioned in the preamble to the Declaration of Independence. And has nothing to do with legislative law. I believe this type of stuff gains grounds with libs because they hear something, and like good little sheep, regurgitate anything thrown their way.

  • Is there specific legislation that allows Cops to sit on the side of an Interstate Hwy to check for speeders.?

It is illegal for the general public to stop along the Interstate in a non-emergency situation. So what piece of Federal Legislation allows the Highway Patrol to just sit on the side or on the incline under a bridge/overpass. Wouldn't this be entrapment? Furthermore, along those same lines, when they run stings for underage sales of alcohol/tobacco, you would think they are essentially breaking the law by having a minor attempt to buy these items. It a minor succeeds in buying the product in a sting then what protects the minor from prosecution even though it was sponsored by law enforcement. Isn't it illegal to attempt to buy these products if underage. Wouldn't this be entrapment also (doing one illegal act to catch somebody else doing another illegal act)? Is there SPECIFIC legislation that allows this, or is this an example of Law Enforcement acting as if they are above the law.
