What age should people start dating?

Maybe it's just be but I never understood why people 11, 12, 13 had boyfriends or girlfriends. I really think that's too young. In your opinion, how young is too young to date and what age do you think people should start dating? From my past experience, I had my first "boyfriend" when I was 14 and it was both a bad and good thing. Bad because I definitely was not emotionally ready for it and when we broke up I was just so torn and i don't think a 14 year old should even have to be worrying about break ups and dating. It was good because I realized that I shouldn't be dating at that age. I think 16 is a good age because you're more mentally matured by then.

I'm 15 and I don't feel ready to have a boyfriend.  I'd like to wait until I'm about 17.  For now I'd rather not have to deal with all the emotional turmoil my friends are going through..

I agree with you 10000000000%!!!!!!!   I just luv when 11 year olds are talking about their many 'boyfriends' throughout school, I always just look at them and want to scream REALLY YOU'RE GOING OUT WITH HIM?!  where the heck are you kids going????  in mommy and daddy's car to the other persons house is Not GOING OUT!  that's hanging out with someone of the opposite sex!!!!

kids these days are ridiculous, I think the youngest a person should be when they first start actually DATING is when they're at LEAST 16, b/c then you can drive yourself places, you are getting a feel for the real world if you are a legit 16 year old and get a job, start paying your own way and what not. 

I completely agree with your statement that 11, 12 & 13 is FAR too young to 'date' anyone. . .b/c you have no idea who yoU are at that time, let alone who or what you want. .. so silly!

My rules for our daughters was 14 for "group dates" (a bunch going to the cinema, a football game, etc)... 16 for "dating".

Additional rules

1)  Introduce the young mane to their Mother and Me.
2)  Maintain a 3.4 GPA... if it dropped below that, the dating was OFF until the GPA came back up.
3)  Age difference of no more than 24 months
4)  NO SEX until 18 years of age (I let the boy know that rule while I cleaned my shotgun).

Thankfully, almost all the OTHER parents in our area adhere to the same rules.

I honestly dont think there should be an age to dating.. its whether your ready to date or not. I see lots of kids start to date around 14 or 15.

I agree that kids should be 16 or older. I know im not gonna date till like 18. That is just how I feel about it.

18 and up because they are mature enough to handle a relationship. Or 20's I would say because that is the best age in my opinion because that is when you are at your best.
