Why do people still refuse to admit that Wikipedia is perfect and infallible?
Back in 2001, okay, be skeptical. Wikipedia achieved perfection in 2005. It's been seven years.

Well it's problematic because any clown can go in and change anything they want without an account.
I could go onto the following wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greeting and change it to say something that misleads it, but still making it sound professional.
That's the issue at hand, although the pages that are correct are magnificent and give you each and every source you need. So, honestly it's a flawed encyclopedia, but it's great at the same time.

Yeah, I think that it's weird that nobody will admit how perfect it is. I read a study once that said the average American college textbook is out of date and therefore has many wrong, and out-dated facts in it while Wikipedia has a 98.2% accuracy! Many people say that Wikipedia isn't that accurate because "anybody can just come along and right a fake article or mess up a current one." That is actually completely untrue because I once had a Wikipedia account and I'd try to, as the Wikipedia police would say, "vandalize" other articles by adding the occasional "meow, meow," but as soon as I did so, I would get a strongly-worded letter telling me what I was doing was vandalism and if I did it again my account would be suspended and the article was fixed from what damage I did. In fact, I DID do it again and my account was suspended, the article fixed from the damage I had done. I couldn't do anything with my Wikipedia account anymore because of my suspension so I just deleted it (my account).
I think people won't admit how perfect and infallible it is because it's from the Internet and "you can't believe everything you read on the Internet" and the fact that Wikipedia is the people's knowledge.

Because it's neither perfect nor infallible. Has not been, is not now, and never will be. Wikipedia is full of problems. Even today, people are still getting burned with false information they got from Wikipedia. The porn problem continues unabated. Accountability for use of donations still leaves a lot to be desired. And so on and so forth.

Because nothing is perfect and infallible. People change, languages change and sometimes one needs to depend on other resources.
Source(s): My own resources are the only site I need. Also, at 86, I'm pretty sure my resources are reliable; also my problem-solving capabilities. One source certainty would be lovely, wouldn't it? By depending on another source, you may have a chance to find exactly the help you need - the one that gives you that "job's done" satisfied smile. Be patient. - How do you think about the answers?
