Once you are served forclosure papers, can it be stoped?

    Foreclosures get dismissed all the time, you must bring your mortgage current for them to do that.

    Yes. You first get a notice of default. Next you get a notice of sale. You have until 15 days before the house is to be sold to bring your mortgage current.

    You have to bring the mortgage payments to current.

    Yes it can. You simply pay all the back payments, late fees an attorney fees.
