Whose run at their respective school was more dominant: Steve Spurrier at Florida, or Bear Bryant at Bama?

Update:

Lets not act as if it is not close. Steve accomplished great, great things at Florida. The domination of Florida vs UGA started with him, fearing playing in the swamp started with him, and I don't know for sure, but I assume he was playing tougher teams year in, and year out.

Update 2:

Lets not act as if it is not close. Steve accomplished great, great things at Florida. The domination of Florida vs UGA started with him, fearing playing in the swamp started with him, and I don't know for sure, but I assume he was playing tougher teams year in, and year out.

Update 3:

Who did Spurrier beat? From 91 to 95 he beat at least 12 teams who were ranked at the time of play, and finished in the top 25. That is all I cared to look up on such short notice.

91 Bama 11-1 #5

91 Tennessee 9-3 #15/14

91 Georgia 9-3 #17/19

91 Florida State 11-2 #4

Just to name a few, and trust me, I do mean a few. This list could be a lot longer.

Bear Bryant but it is close.

Bryants run at Bama was long which is one of the bonuses of his career BUT I am one who argues that teams really got competitive in the 90s, until then there were the have programs and the have nots.

Florida, under Spurrier began one of the greatest eras in College Football history, honestly after Bama collapsed the SEC had nobody, but then Florida came along and started playing a bunch of teams at the top of their game, such as Nebraska, FSU, Miami, Notre Dame, WVU and Syracuse, not only that but Spurrier, like Bryant caught everyone off guard by perfecting the fun and gun offense, much like Bear did the wishbone. Spurrier made Florida into a premiere QB school, when before it was nothing of the such.

Bryant has the championships which obviously puts him ahead, but Spurrier had an outstanding run and played some of the greatest teams in CFB history with more than moderate success, Florida seemed superhuman to many around 1993-1998.

Bear Bryant had teams that took down great Notre Dame, Penn State, Oklahoma, etc before the rise of 'power conferences'. And did it for nearly two decades.

Spurrier was an innovator, and had a couple of great teams. But who did he beat besides Florida State?

I go with Bryant. 6 to 1 national championships. Most people also forget that had Ohio State not beaten Arizona State in the 1997 Rose Bowl, Florida and Spurrier would not have won the 96 title.

roflmao! That's good. Except Colorado would be the kid with stupid parents who don't let their kid do anything. (Because our coach is an idiot, and he's had us playing a checking/defensive game for the past 2 months. Well, at least he seems to be coming around now with the addition of Forsberg). Especially lmao @ the Thrashers one! sobuhutch: Detroit has like 8 Swedes on their roster, therefore they are the foreign exchange student.
