Why do people insist not taking the carcass with you is "poaching"?

I wish someone would give me a link to the definition or law that says this, I can't find it in california fish & game or anywhere. Besides, not all animals legal to hunt are even game, like prairie dogs. No one takes their meat, just leave them . At what point then is it "poaching"? And, please, a link only. If it is illegal to poach, and just leaving it is "poaching" I'd like to see where it is actually against the law. No, I would never waste game, I just don't see where you get it. It wasn't in my hunter's safety class. It's definitely irresponsible. All I know take it with them, if they don't eat it, they donate it.

Update:

I did research, I told you. I can only find definitions that disprove it. I also said I can't find it in F & G regs, I can't find where not taking meat is poaching in any definition in any dictionary or wiki.com. Your answer only reinforces what said.

Please no sarcasm, or "everyone knows his", since I am asking about the law, I need to be precise.

What's wrong wirth a link? It is proof. Shoud I take a stranger's word or their legal advice and get arrested?.

Since poaching is illegal, I would like to see where you got this, as that makes it a crime.

No one told me this, it just wasn't mentioned in hunter's safety. I said I researched it and could not find it.

I got the AZ f & G, I looked up the word "poaching"; no where in there does it say this.

It sounds like, since no one can prove it, it is another gun wives tale.

If I ask 10 people out there if I can have a machine gun, 7 will say "no" withou

Update 2:

If I ask 10 out there on any topic if I can have a machine gun, 7 will say "No" without even asking me what country or state or looking up the federal law, FFA of 1934.

I once asked if higher pofile tires would help my mileage, all 3 said no.

The next week, I tried it again. 3 said yes,

The truth is, I found on a regular car forum, yes, on freeway, not noticeable in town. Low end will suffer. Like adding OD and leaving it on.

I try always to give a link. I don't see why anyone should take stranger's word who is 1-10,000 miles away.

Update 3:

Yes, hi proflie = taller. You can't simply get "taller tires" it is an aspect ratio:

."Low profile tires are wider and lower to the ground than high profile tires."

Poaching is the act of hunting an animal that you don't have a license to hunt. Now, some states will, if you are, say, deer hunting, call it poaching if you have a bull tag and shoot a doe and leave it. So it's really up to jurisidiction, but it's not necessarily everywhere, for every species. For example, the feral hog population in Texas requires that they eradicate these wild hogs in massive numbers to control them, as they are destroying farmers crops and such. Because of that, they don't require the carcass to be removed, nor is there a limit. Same with Coyotes in some areas of the country.

Oh, and your understanding about fuel mileage is incorrect. Higher profile tires will have zero effect on gas mileage. It's the overall tire diameter that would affect it. Profile just refers to how short or tall the sidewall is in relation to the width. So you can have a 28" tire with a very low profile (like a 35 or 40 series) on a 22" wheel, or you can have a 28" tall tire with a high profile (like a 75 series) on a 15" wheel. So like the poaching, it's all relative.

Many states make wanton waste illegal, which is not utilizing edible parts of game animals. Poaching is typically killing games animals (for all purposes, even eating) outside the season or using illegal methods.

One of the best ways of not getting a answer is saying " a link only " do your own research

Whoever told you this doesn't know what the word "poaching" means.

According to dictionary.com, "poach" means "1. the illegal practice of trespassing on another's property to hunt or steal game without the landowner's permission."

OTOH, killing an animal and then just leaving it there to rot isn't illegal, AFAIK, its just irresponsible and wasteful.
