Are people that read tons of books nerds?

or are they the superior intellectuals? I always saw people that spent all their free time reading rather than enjoying life and being social as weirdos. But many of these think they are superior to everyone else.

    Of course not. Some people read of escape, some people read for fun, some people read to learn. It doesn't make them "nerds"
