Is it fair to say that although Jesus Christ was the son of God, he had his own opinions? The reason I ask is?
because, God often seems angry in the bible and often punish those who oppose him, but Jesus seems more loving and forgiving and tolerant and different of those who are different from him. I'm not sure if it's just me, but that's the impression I get. I have been a believer all my life and believe in the holy trinity, but it seems although they are the same, God, the holy spirit and Jesus Christ have different personalities.
Ummmm Janie, there is no where in my post where I said anything about split personalities, that's your interpretation.

John 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
We are now in the age of grace (started w/ Jesus). Before, in the old testament, was the age of the law.

That's because they are NOT one in the same. You making it seems as though they have split personalities which is far from that. Jesus is the Son of God and Jehovah God is his Father. God does not get angry just because he wants to. If you read the Bible with accurate knowledge then you would read and see why he became angry with them. Those nations was disobedient and when Jehovah God given the laws to those nations to abide by the nations chose not to obey them. Jehovah gave them warnings to straighten up their lives but they chose to look the other way so to speak. Take for example: "children" Some children are obedient where others are disobedient. Let them do something wrong that you don't like or told them not to do and they did it anyways. How angry would you be? You would punished them right? But again some parents do not discipline their children these days. Those nations of long ago is just like some of the people today, "disobedient".

Taking a whip to money changers in the temple and calling the leaders a brood of vipers and sons of hell is not exactly forgiving and tolerant.
In the Old Testament, God had to speak harshly because the people did not pay attention, but he was always merciful to those who turned to him whether of Israel or gentile. Also, it was not just the Father who spoke or acted in Old Testament times,

Jesus is God for one thing. God became man in order to save all mankind. Jesus is 100% God and 100% man. God/Jesus are merciful. If God was not Merciful would he have sent his only begotten Son to die a painful death on the cross? The only way possible for us/humans to ever be redeemed was through the blood of Jesus. If he had not shed his blood on Calvary for us we would be lost and hopeless. He is as God of Justice and mercy! He is not just some mean merciless monster! Some people do not understand the Old Testament. He did have to get rid of some bad people. He is God, and he knows how evil the hearts of those people were. As for any child that was killed, the children might have grown up to be evil like their parents and ended up in Hell for eternity, but they are in Heaven now. You won't know God and if you do not study his word(the Bible.) You obviously have not really studied or read much at all or you would no that although Jesus is about love, he still wouldn't let people walk all over him. He went through the temple knocking over tables and chasing men out with a whip for turning His house into a den of thieves! To follow Jesus you must believe on Him. You must read his Word so you will know how he expects you to live your life. There is an acceptable way that he expects us to live our lives. If we do not pray and read the Bible we won't know what that is, nor will we understand who He is. God does not desire that any person die lost/unsaved and go to Hell. That is why he made a way for us to be saved by sending his Son. If we will accept Jesus he will send us His Holy Spirit to help us know how to live for Him. He will forgive us for our sins however big or small they may be, but if we refuse Him he cannot let us enter into Heaven when we die. He gave his life, what more could he do? It isn't Gods fault if we go to Hell. if you go to Hell it will be your own fault for not accepting Gods redemption plan. The sacrifice of Jesus was the only way we could go to Heaven. It had to be a sinless sacrifice inorder for our sins to be covered, and Jesus was the only one who never sinned, not even once! You see, be a Christian is nothing about how good we can be or how much good things we can do. We in ourself can never be good enough to go to Heaven when we die. But in Jesus we are made sinless. Our sins are covered because of the finished work he did on the cross. This is by no means a lisence to be evil, but if we are truly saved we will live a Christ like life, because a truly saved person who has been supernaturally changed/born again will bare the fruit...meaning a truly changed person will live according to Gods word. We cannot get to heaven by doind good deeds but if we are truly born again we will do good and be good. And when we make a mistake we know Jesus forgives us. Even if we make a mistake and die in a car wreck before we have a chance to pray and ask God to forgive us we we go to Heaven because we a justified by our Faith in the finished work Christ did on the cross. Never ever forget that we are not the ones who are good enough to go to Heaven,it is ONLY through what Jesus did on the cross that we are fit to enter into Heaven! Our righteousness is as a filthy rag in Gods eyes! But as long as we are covered by the blood of Jesus God doesn't see our sins and he can allow us into Heaven. To be covered by the blood of Jesus means you have experienced a supernatural born again experience, and you believe Jesus died for our sins and then rose from the dead 3 days later. If you have not had this supernatural born again experience you need to get alone with God. Seek him in prayer and aske him to give you this. Ask Him to reveal himself to you through prayer and readiing the Bible and He WILL do it. He is not willing that any man should perish, but that all would have everlasting life. Never stop growing in Christ, because he wants to work on us as long as we still have breath in us! When you read the bible it is best to stick with the King James Version because it is the closest translation to the original manuscript.
