The flesh, the old natural sinful life, the old man, the life lived from self, is by far the greatest problem that we have. In practical terms you can almost forget the world and you can in fact not bother about the Devil. Those three are our enemies and barriers to living obediently and holy.
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

You seem to have both spiritual and carnal ! We wage spiritual war, and in that scripture Paul explicitly said that our weapons are not fleshly. That kind of nails it down.
Jesus said this (which many misunderstand)
Matthew 10:34:
Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
For this is what he also said (explanation on the above by request only)
Matthew 26:52:
Then saith Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into its place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
Revelation of John 13:10:
If any man is for captivity, into captivity he goeth: if any man shall kill with the sword, with the sword must he be killed. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
Naturally, there is the case of Cornelius. This one you need to ask a higher authority to explain.
However, the Bible does differentiate between killing and the killing in war for self-defense (not of innocent bystanders).

I don't understand your question but off the top of my head. 1) We do not fight flesh and blood. This means we need to think big picture and not have a knee jerk reaction to people based on their actions and how they make us feel because we are fighting a spiritual battle, not people. 2) The joy of the Lord is my strength. Get filled up with God's love and joy, and you will have the strength to fight. This will give you hope and faith....3) Overcome evil with good. In this world, we are either going to conform to evil, or be a shining light that stands in contrast and separates from evil and acts in ways to conquer evil. 4) Do not be weary in well doing. Do not give up. It doesn't do an athlete any good to run 4 miles of a 5 mile run. They need to keep persevering in order to finish...

My personal belief in spiritual warfare comes from a little bit of experience. If you are serious about it you had better bring you a game. It is not to be taken lightly.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
(Ephesians 6:11-17)

Some supply the devil extra credit score/blame than imperative. Some talk as if it is a regular battle between them and satan. Well, to those who think that method, you undoubtedly do not know what scripture teaches us and that Jesus received the combat. Devil desires to maintain us from God. In that I haven't any doubt. He's going to present us with temptations with a view to entice us away from God, to seem to position some thing or any individual else up on the throne as a substitute of God. However, that is most effective temptation - devil are not able to do any dragging himself - we ought to yield to the entice. One weapon now we have in opposition to the enemy is our way of thinking. You brought up the verse of casting down imaginations - this goes into avoiding fallacious doctrines, and so on. You additionally referred to pulling down strongholds, which is a mind-set. I'd remind you of the verse which speaks of the "renewing of our minds" (which Joyce Meyers facets out is not the "removing of our minds"). There is additionally one predominant verse, "withstand the satan and he'll flee". So, religious battle is as a rule gaining a new way of thinking. God's means. Get to grasp your scriptures. Spend time and get to grasp the Lord. Reside the scriptures - tackle a brand new angle and tackle new moves. Then, when that artful critter comes along to sway, distract or tempt you, that you could resist him for the reason that you're relaxed in the work Jesus already did to defeat him. The devil is a crisis. However, the battle has been won. Lots of the disorders we face are just life on this fallen society. God didn't inform us that each sniffle is an assault of the enemy. Nevertheless, if we discover ourselves being bitter, unforgiving, egocentric, watching faraway from God after we should seem towards Him - then we have the enemy sitting on our front porch, watching to entice us extra away, needing us to go as far as to disclaim God. One factor we additionally have to keep in mind is that the satan isn't an independent agent going for walks round countering all of God's strikes. He can do nothing except God authorizes it. So, if God authorizes it, can we no longer have a method by means of it? These assaults come with the aid of God's authorization in order to experiment and mature us - which happens as we include His way of thinking and seek Him in all circumstances, denying false doctrines and "stinkin' thinkin' ".
