Why do competing divers go immediately from the pool into a spa or hot tub?

Is it that chilly? How long do they stay there? And, why are most diving coaches bald?

    Water conducts heat much better than air does, so after you've been working your muscles hard, they get cold very quickly in the pool.

    The diving coaches being bald is coincidence. It isn't a requirement of the sport.
