How do I get around San Francisco?
I'm traveling to San Francisco. Staying maybe about 3 days.we are a group of four and we are wondering how we can roam San Francisco? I heard about Muni but do we have to pay every time we get on a bus or is there a pass that allows us to get on all the buses with just a one time fee?
Are there any other ways to get around San Francisco that are not that costly and are easy?
Another problem is that we are staying at nearby Oakland. Pretty far from a BART station if we walked. How can we get to San Francisco and roam San Francisco easy and cheaply?

San Francisco's Muni System offers 3 and 7 day passes that are a total deal and include all Muni conveyances. Bus, tolley, light rail fare is $2 with a transfer good for 90 minutes. Cable Car fare is $6 each time. The Muni System is very easy to use and covers the entire city.
BART is a separate transportation option so you will have to pay fare to get to and from the city. Bus lines in the east bay are operated by AC transit.
The best single resource for all things public transport related in the Bay area is 511.org they can give you detailed info on price, transfers, schedules and time to travel.

For travel in SF you can get 7 day (and maybe 3 day, I'm not sure) passes.
But travel from Oakland is separate. That would be $4 each way on AC Transit. Where in Oakland? There may (or may not) be a bus line handy.

San Francisco is countless in terms of places to circulate to and issues to do. attempt to circulate to the Union sq. the place many of the nice lodges and theaters are placed. try additionally the San Francisco Opera domicile, the SoMa district, the financial District, and the twists and turns of Lombard highway. 2 of the superb-common vacationer places in San Francisco are Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf.
