Chick-fil-A ... I'm confused?
What is Chick-fil-A and what is all this controversy about. I have no clue what's going on, just see "chick-fil-A" as some kind of a political issue.

Guys, check your sources. The owner said they support the traditional marriage in the biblical sense (which without, none of us would be here). It was no homophobic slander or hateful comment in any way. I hate to be this guy, but you guys are asking for it. It is typical of liberals/liberal media to blow a conservative comment WAY out of the water. Whatever political party you are, you MUST agree this is true; whenever a liberal or anarchist states his opinion on the media, it is protected by the first amendment, but whenever a Christian makes a comment they get shot down by the entire media. Come on guys, That's unfair.
I do, however, understand that the first amendment does not protect against criticism from citizens.
You see, the problem is, people don't realize that if you want someone to believe what you believe, you will NEVER get them to see it your way with hateful arguments and comments. Also, people accuse Christians of being intolerant; take a look inward at what is happening from a simple comment. Christians are not intolerant of people, we love everybody (if they are doing it right), we just don't accept their sin.

It's a chicken fast food restaurant like KFC. Basically people are upset about their political and religious views. They've always been very openly Christian and they're famous for closing on Sundays. They don't discriminate against people in any way, but people who are intolerant of Christians assume that they do.
People are upset recently because somebody asked the president of the company about causes that they support and the president was honest instead of politically correct. Some politicians have said that they want to deny permits and stuff and otherwise harass Chick-Fil-A as a result, so now there's also a backlash on the other side in support of free speech rights.

Chicken restaurant owned by Christian person
who's personal beliefs are against gay marriage.
They do not discriminate in serving their
customers. After this controversy, gays may
not purchase food there, so there should be
no problems if that's the case. There are hundreds
of Christians who own businesses who have a
personal belief that gay marriage is against their
religion. That's a right every American has. Why
they decided to zero in on Chick-Fil-A is beyond
me.

Chick-Fil-A is an Atlanta-based fast-food restaurant chain. The founder, Truett Cathy,is a hard-line "Christian" known for his agressive religious views.
The controversy stems fro the company's management openly oposing gay rights, including gay marriage. That has provoked criticism and efforts to boycott the company's stores.

Seems Chick-fil-A, or at least some of its leadership, is against gay marriage and has been very public in expressing their opinion(s). It has created some backlash for the company. I believe the firm has a Christian leadership and that is reflected in some it's public communications.

A basic premise in the United States has always been that management has a right to not serve and ban anyone they choose too. Civil rights laws have changed some of that but being Gay has yet to be included in the civil rights laws. Although the owner of the place has not put it in those terms he has indicated that he does not support the gay movement.
Based on that the gay community has targeted him and his business in further attempts to impose their will upon society. Suggestions that company ownership and/or liberals are responsible for the current turmoil is nonsense; it was perpetuated and is being carried out by members of the gay community.
It is total nonsense but could end up causing great financial losses to the owner - AND IF IT DOES I would love to see him sue those who pushed the situation.

Chick-fil-a is a chain owned restaurant (WHICH IS CHRISTIAN) and they are saying that they are again gay marriage and stuff like that. So a bunch of "politicals" are acting all surprised and angry over it 'cause they're nothing but a bunch of tree-hugging, liberals....

Dan Cathy expressed a religious opinion & nearly got crucified by the tolerant left. Unfortunately for them, his business just got better.

It is a restaurant chain. The owner stated that he supports the traditional definition of marriage. That expression of opinion is apparently not permitted by many liberals. Who said we had freedom of speech and expression anyway?

Its owner is a homophobe and discriminates against gays. Some city mayors have said that Chick-fil-A isn't welcome in their cities.
