How to use host file to block a specific IP address?
I have used host file in the past to block websites now I want to do so to block servers. For example if a game happens to have 4 servers available I want to make it possible to block 3 of the servers to force anyone playing on a PC I own to play on the remaining server. How would I go about doing this since I am able to fetch the connection IP.
I am open to other suggestions too as long as they do not include third party software.

The HOSTS file will just work with URLs, as far as I know. (Just did a little test, but didn't get the wanted result.)
Your internet router might be able to block URLs too and possibly accepts IP addresses. Worth a shot?

You haven't offered us with one valuable piece of information. Are they making use of your network to acquire your IP tackle? If so, entry your router and hooked up a password. If they get cross the password, have the option to disable SSID Broadcast. If they have got your Ip by some other means, exchange your IP by altering the very last digit of your Mac deal with. If they've pushed the bounds, I propose you flip to your regional legislation enforcements for support.

all hosts files do is mess with the DNS. E.g. you can say that www.example.com is 127.0.0.1
and then http://www.example.com/foo/html will go to your own machine, but http://games.example.com/ will still go to the original place.
If you want to block an ip address, try adding a firewall rule in your desktop or router.
