Will a WHITE Chinese teacher with a masters degree find employment in California?
I graduated with a BA in international business and a minor in Chinese. I studied abroad in Taiwan for a year while in college and taught English in China for a year after graduating. I aspire to be a Chinese language teacher in either middle school, high school, or college. But let's face it, I'm not Chinese--I'm white. My Chinese is very good for someone who has learned it as an adult and I feel I can understand what my (future) students are going through as I've been in their seats before (native English speaker trying to learn Chinese). I've been accepted to a masters program based on my Chinese level but I'm unsure if there will be any jobs for WHITE Chinese teachers on the west coast (preferably Southern California). Will I be beat out by native Chinese for the same job just because I don't look the part?

First of all, I wish you'd stop using the word "white". What you mean is that you are not a native speaker of Chinese.
Many schools are starting classes in Chinese. There aren't enough qualified native speakers of Chinese to teach those classes- that is, teachers with licensure in teaching, not just Chinese language fluency. So many schools do hire non-native speakers. However, your chances would be better if you had the required education courses.
I know a native speaker of English who just got a Ph.D. in Chinese literature. He had trouble finding a tenure track position at a university because he's not a native speaker, but he was hired by a private high school.

I will suggest you to apply through CUCAS, CUCAS is a professional online platform for international students to apply for Chinese universities, it has a strong relationship with over 300 universities in China. They do not ask for any fee, the application fee is collect by them but only on behalf of the university, CUCAS also hold social activities for international students so they will not get bored, they always try to think as a foreigner and help international students to solve their problems. Very nice.
