2007 Civic Hybrid struggling to get 30 mpg?
I have a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid with 36,000 miles on it. For the first 5 years, in San Diego, I was getting 42 mpg. This past year, in the same city, on the same roads, I've been struggling to get 30 mpg. This happened before and after I got new tires, had them aligned, and balanced, The air pressure in the tires has been checked, I have changed the oil and replaced the air filter. I keep up with the maintenance on my car and no check engine lights are on. I'm taking my car into Honda on Thursday to get the hybrid technology battery checked. What else could be causing this dramatic drop in gas mileage?
3 AnswersHonda8 years agoOrtho Tri Cyclen and weight gain/bloating?
I'm more than halfway done with my second pack of ortho tri cyclen and I've noticed I've gained about 5lbs. I'm not sure if it's water weight or fat but I haven't made any changes in my diet or lifestyle. Anyways, is this weight gain temporary?
3 AnswersWomen's Health8 years agoBoyfriend ignoring me after long distance visit?
My boyfriend and I met in middle school and reconnected as friends on Facebook two months ago. He lives on the east coast while I live on the west. We talked everyday and decided to date before seeing each other in person after 10 years. Two weeks ago he flew out to see me and stay with me in my apartment. He seemed happy to be here the first day, but after that he rarely smiled, talked to me, initiated a conversation, made eye contact, and just seemed like he was preoccupied with his phone the whole time.
Now that he's back home, he hasn't been very responsive to my texts and won't pick up his phone. I'm supposed to fly out on Saturday to see him (I paid for the ticket) and I can't get ahold of him. What should I do?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating8 years agoApartment landlord has agreed to compensate me for mold damage. What should I ask her to cover?
I moved into my apartment on August 16th (11 days ago) and noticed an extremely strong smell of mold in the air. Half of the walls were tested for moisture and all walls that were tested came up at a level ten, the maximum amount of moisture that the meter can detect. All of my belongings reek of the smell of mold. I've aired/"sunned" out my clothes and drawers but since I don't have access to a moving truck, my mattress and couch are still in the apartment. It was just me and the cat that were living in the apartment. So far the landlord has agreed to pay my hotel expenses, refund my deposit, compensate my electricity expense (for having the complex's giant dehumidifier running non-stop), electricity set-up charges and refund rent and application fee. I need to submit a list in writing of what I'm asking for to compensate my losses. I'm thinking of these things below:
- moving expenses and movers from moving in and to move out
- new pillows
- mattress and sofa cleaning costs
- Internet costs to transfer service and for the days I wasn't living in the apartment to use it
- A doctors visit and vet visit (since I was starting to feel the effects)
- One tank of gas (since I did most of the moving myself)
Am I missing anything?
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate9 years agoIs it safe to live in an apartment for a month with severe amounts of mold in the walls?
I moved into my new apartment complex on August 16th. From the day I moved in I could tell that there was a musty and very moist feeling in the air. I reported it to the apartment manager and long story short, they tested the walls with a moisture reader that gave half of walls (300 square feet out of 600) a level 10 moisture reading* (they stopped testing the walls after seeing so many level 10s). The apartment manager agreed to let me out of my lease and I found a new place but it isn't ready for move-in until September 9th (two weeks from now). I have a cat and I'd hate to move her to a hotel with me for two weeks then into my new apartment, again. Is it safe for my health to live in my apartment for two weeks in this kind of environment?
*Level 10 is the highest moisture reading a wall can have
5 AnswersRenting & Real Estate9 years agoWill a WHITE Chinese teacher with a masters degree find employment in California?
I graduated with a BA in international business and a minor in Chinese. I studied abroad in Taiwan for a year while in college and taught English in China for a year after graduating. I aspire to be a Chinese language teacher in either middle school, high school, or college. But let's face it, I'm not Chinese--I'm white. My Chinese is very good for someone who has learned it as an adult and I feel I can understand what my (future) students are going through as I've been in their seats before (native English speaker trying to learn Chinese). I've been accepted to a masters program based on my Chinese level but I'm unsure if there will be any jobs for WHITE Chinese teachers on the west coast (preferably Southern California). Will I be beat out by native Chinese for the same job just because I don't look the part?
4 AnswersTeaching9 years agoHow to hydrate your pet in its sherpa while on-board a plane?
I'll be flying from Beijing to LA which is about a 13 hour flight. My cat will fly with me in the cabin. I would like to buy a soft sherpa carrier (like this one: http://www.petco.com/product/2615/The-Original-She... but I don't know how to provide her adequate food and water without A) opening the carrier on the flight and B) having it spill everywhere.
Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this that they can share with me? Thank you!

So I just purchased a t-mobile Mytouch 3g and the wifi server I want to log into has the ~ symbol in its name. Since it is a hidden server, I need to manually type in the name, but when I clicked on the "?123" button on my keyboard, I couldn't find this symbol. How can I type this symbol on my phone?
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoHELP! Weird taskbar icon won't go away!?
So I've had this strange taskbar icon appear every time i start up my computer and i'm not sure where it's from. If i click on it, nothing happens, but if i wave my mouse over it, it shows the picture of some kind of generic .exe file.
I've tried a system restore but unfortunately, i only have the past 5 days saved on my restore registry and this problem began about a month ago.
Do you know what this icon belongs to and how i can get rid of it?

I was wondering, if I'm in the same military branch (for example the Navy) and so is my husband (both of us are officers), will we always be based together in the same place? What are the rules about this?
Thanks!

2 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoHow to reapply another coat of fake tan without patchiness?
I've been using fake tanners for about 4 years now yet I've never mastered how to reapply the tan "2-3 days after applying the initial tan." It seems that my body doesn't exfoliate its own skin cells evenly, which causes the patchiness during the second application. Normally, I have to exfoliate my whole body and start from scratch about every week.
Is it possible to apply a fake tan every few days without having to start over every week or so? Any tips in doing this? Thanks!
2 AnswersMakeup1 decade agoDo most people in the UK have refrigerators AND freezers in their home?
I'm doing a project for my marketing class in the US about whether Jenny Craig's diet fiids would attract customers in England. These meals will ship to residence in England and need to be frozen/refrigerated. So I was wondering, do most people in the UK have refrigerators AND freezers in their home?
p.s. In case a refrigerator is called something else in the UK, it's like an ice box where you can keep foods and drinks cold. A freezer, in America, is like an ice box except it keeps things frozen such as ice cubes or frozen meals. Thank you so much!
5 AnswersOther - Advertising & Marketing1 decade agoHELP! Laptop won't go to sleep!?
I've had my HP Pavillion dv2000 for two years and never had a problem with the sleep button. About two days ago when i hit the "function key" then the sleep key (F5) it goes into lock mode instead of sleep mode. This also happens when I go to start, power options, and sleep. My screen just goes black and doesn't shut off (i can hear the fan running and see that the CPU is still running). Once i move the mouse, it shows me the "locked" page.
I have not installed any new programs in the last two days and I am 100% sure i'm hitting the sleep mode on the F5 key and not the lock mode. I am running Vista 64bit and i have restarted and powered off my computer multiple times with no avail. Help please!

2 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoHow to reapply self tanner without looking patchy?
Hey everyone! So i was using my loreal self tanner (sub lime bronze) and the bottle says to apply it once, then reapply every few days to keep the tan. Well, i've found that when i do that, i end up with a patchy mess. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to reapply without taking the whole tan off or getting patchy? Is it even possible from your experience?
