What weight divisions are underrated? What weight divisions should receive more attention?

As far as underrated goes I give it to Lightheavyweight. I was reading this article on the greatest lightheavies of all time and it had so much talent and so many legendary fights, it trully is slept on. It's between two more popular divisions, supermiddleweight and heavyweight, so I think that's why its ignored. Yet it has had some of the best fighters in history:Michael Spinks,Eddie Mustafa Muhammad,Mathew Saad Muhammad,Dick Tiger, Bob Foster,Billy Conn,Maxie Rosenbloom,Archie Moore,Dariusz Michelewski, and of course Roy Jones Jr. I could go on and on. I'm gonna be watching lightheavyweight in the future and all real boxing fans should as well.

I think a weight division that should receive more attention is the Cruiserweight division. It's filled with so much potential, it was only until recently these guys were heavyweights. At 200 lbs and under 6'4, it usually equals some exciting fights, from the ones I seen. Plus, CW has a weight limit, meaning these are big guys with big power but they usually come in shape, unlike those atrocious HW.

So what do you guys think is a division that is underrated while those middleweights and welters hog the spotlight? What do you guys think is a division that should recieve more attention.

The most underrated divisions now are the junior lightweight and the lightweight divisions. The 130 lbs. class has been without a real dominant star fighter/champion pending the further development of Adrien Broner and the much awaited move up in weight of Yuri Gamboa and Juan Manuel Lopez who could re-discover his old devastating form at that level. On the other hand, the lightweight class has been decimated by the moving up of the stalwarts as Juan Manuel Marquez, Brandon Rios and Robert Guerrero. The `135 lbs. class is now bannered by the likes of Tony De Marco and Hank Lundy who were at best just in the fringes some years back.

The lower weight classes, especially the featherweight down to the flyweight should receive more attention from both promoters and fans since these are the classes brimming with fighters and champions on the brink of stardom and superstardom like Gamboa, Gary Russell, Nonito Donaire, Toshiaki Nishioka, Guillermo Rigondeux, Abner Mares, Chris John, Mickey Garcia, Jhonny Gonzales, Brian Viloria, Chocolatito Gonzales and a numaber of up and coming exciting fighters.

I think middle and welter weights get the spot light cause those divisions currently has some of the best p4p fighters. Other divisions are okay, but at this time there is a great deal of world class boxers there, and they can move up or go down in weight easily amongst those divisions.

Source(s): My fav division is HW, because well I am a HW and I know what it's like to be a big guy and to fight like one. I think the division that needs deserves more attention is "cruserweight" they are right under HW and are really good, just many of them are too small to battle with the big boys.

The term "undisputed champion" is sometimes applied in senses other than the preceding.

    [edit] WBA Super Champion

The WBA recognizes the title holders from the WBC, WBO, and IBF organizations. The WBA refers to a champion who holds two or more of these titles in the same weight class as an "undisputed champion" or "super champion". This applies even if the WBA title is not one of the titles held by the "undisputed champion".[33][34] In September 2008, Nate Campbell was recognized as lightweight "undisputed champion" for his WBO and IBF titles, while the WBA's own champion was Yusuke Kobori.[35]

If one of the multiple titles held to earn the designation WBA "Super" Champion is the WBA's own title, then the fighter is promoted to Super champion and the WBA title becomes vacant for other WBA-ranked boxers to fight for. Thus, the WBA tables will sometimes show a "WBA Super World Champion" and a "WBA World Champion" for the same weight class, instead of simply "WBA Champion".[36]

interior the 1st few UFC there have been'nt any weight divisions. It became into stated as form as against form.. With Royce Gracie prevailing the 1st 3. He became into 185 pds decrease back then and struggling with adult adult males sometime one hundred pounds greater beneficial than him. however the regulations have been additionally very distinctive than they are actually and are plenty greater constrained now. thats why its no longer stated as "no-holds barred" So with the regulations as they are at present the better combatants might maximum likey dominate.
