You should watch Sherlock!!! It's a BBC television show about a modern day Sherlock Holmes. It's absolutely phenomenal. The cast is amazing and you will fall in love with them all, I promise.
For a movie, you could watch Music From Another Room. It's a little slow, not really sure if you'd stick with it, but I love Jude Law, so it was worth it. It's a cute little love story :)
