Do you think an atheistic president could ever have a chance?
Just wondering.

Voters will consider the moral underpinnings of a Presidential candidate, but high moral values are not required to come from a religious upbringing. And there is no religious test for a candidate for office, as per the US Constitution.
President Reagan apparently never attended religious services while President, so was he religious, or not?
For how some candidates take positions, they have to be atheists, as they expose beliefs that are not found in any Bible or religious teaching.

The prime minister of Australia is an atheist, so maybe one day yes. It's sad that people probably wouldn't elect a person that could do a job very well because of their religion.

some day but not for a long time. I think an Islamic president will run before an atheist one since Islam wants world domination before Jesus returns.

Assuming you're referring to just the US, I don't think so. Considering the majority of the population is Christian, he/she would never get elected. And that's unfortunate because they'd be focusing more on the candidate's faith than their abilities as a competent president.

I think so if they weren't open about their atheism.
All they have to do is join a church and make comments about God every once in a while.

We have never had a president who was a true worshiper of YHVH. So all of them have been heretics, blasphemers, or 'atheists'.
