Staying at hospital overnight (and probably for at least a week)?
So, my heart has been troubling mel so my parents took me to the ER. They classified my case as 'mildly serious' meaning that I could be left for a while, but had to be seen, and couldn't leave. So after sitting there an hour I really felt I couldn't breath and went to the nurse who told me I would be considered as more serious, because of my irregular heart beat and pain. I stayed for another 30 min before I was seen by a doctor who seemed tired. He did all the tests. Because I was at a children's hospital, they gave nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for my blood test, because I was screaming really loudly. Anyway the doctor told me my heart was not in the correct condition and I would have to stay, for around a week, maybe less, maybe more.
I'm wearing an oxygen mask and I'm all hooked up to a heart watch thing, so I'm kinda stuck. I'm getting an MRI in like an hour.
I'm at a children's hospital Im 13 but e hospital goes up to age 16 or 18, im not sure which...
What are MRI's like?
Have you ever stayed in a hospital overnight? Why, and what was it like?
Thanks

MRI's aren't that bad however they aren't that fun either. It doesn't hurt it's just VERY loud and it does take 10-30 minutes. i was admitted in children's hospital for 2 months, I've been in and out of that place since i was 4 weeks old, I'm now 16 years old. If you have any questions about your test then ask your nurses or doctors, they help you a lot if your scared of some of the test.

MRI isn't bad or uncomfortable really you just have to lay really still and it feels like forever but it's good in that nothing will hurt you

Ive been in hospital many time sup to 3 weeks in a row for various surgeries/illnesses
It can be scary, quiet, loud and lonely and boring
Scary because you don't know whats wrong yet or what to expect
Quiet at night not a lot of people there so it gets really quiet
Loud all the noises/machines can get annoying
Lonely if your parents can't be there 24/7 you will get bored and lonely
Once your parents get a chance ask them to bring you a bag from home with things like your toothbrush, hairbrush, pajamas, clean clothes, a book to read etc so you won't be too bored and more comfortable
Everything should be okay you weren't rushed in ! my friend had to go to the hospital last yr because her heart wasn't working enough (too slow of heart beat) she stayed 5 days and they just ran routine tests and did a follow up
If you get bored feel free to email me lilysillybilly@yahoo.com if you have any questions I've been to the hospital many times, the food sucks and some things hurt but most of the nurses/doctors are super nice and are just there to make you better! Feel better soon :)
Wow- I just read thru your other questions you are not physically sick but mentally ill if you think it's funny to joke about these things! I and many others have/are been very sick and was trying to help you and now I learn you're some weird troll. Grow up go volunteer at a children's hospital and you will learn not to joke about it when you see what it's like to actually be sick

MRI's are kinda boring, but kinda cool. You have to lay down in what basically looks like an oversized straw from the inside. It's really loud and takes forever, but it's oddly relaxing (for me at least).
I've never officially stayed overnight in a hospital (from what I remember), but I went in at like 11pm once and came out at 1am. I forget what it was for though, it was at least 3 years ago.

Funny how you've asked if you had leukemia or not. Then you said you were fine. But I find this question exceptionally relevant : http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoH2G...

Why do you keep trolling with these medical questions? Do you think its funny to lie about leukemia and heart problems?!?
