Dual Monitor, One VGA Port?
Hey guys,
I currently have two monitors that I'm wanting to set up to extend my laptop's screen. I have an i5 processor with a GPU capable of running 2 displays, thus I'm wanting to port my display to the two monitors (and then just not have a display on my actual laptop when it's plugged in). The problem is that I want to have these displays be EXTENSIONS of each other and not just duplicates. However, I only have one VGA port on my laptop. I would appreciate links and suggestions as to how I should go about displaying an extended screen of my laptop on these two monitors with just the one port. Thanks! :)

You'll want a VGA splitter. However, this will just cut up the identical photograph into 2 portraits so you're going to be seeing the same thing twice, not an extension of a laptop. You would get an A/B field, however this nonetheless does the same factor except one reveal shows up at a time. You are going to want an additional video card with 2 VGA ports.

You are going to have to have a dual head video card or two different video cards. You can get docking stations with dual video ports.

You won't be extending the desktop with only one video output to begin with. It isn't possible period.

There is such a thing as USB to HDMI or DVI adaptors. You just can't use 3D-intense applications on them, I think.
