What could this fossil be?

Found in central Florida near a river. Looks like a tagua nut but it's not. It's brown, smooth, smaller than a golf ball, round like a tagua nut and has a black ring around it. It rattles too, so there is some sort of little dried up creature inside. Any clues?

I'd guess that it is not a fossil. A tanga nut maybe.

Why would you not post pictures of a PICTURE you wanted other people to help identify. That doesn't make any sense.
