In the song, the singer is the "other woman" while the man also has a wife. He has chosen to split his attention between these two women and he's married.

In order to love someone, you have to be able to share them with others instead of just keeping them to yourself. You have to be able to say: "Alright, go ahead." when he asks. It's kind of like a display of trust. It's kind of like "If you love something, Set it free. If it comes back, it’s yours. If it doesn’t, it never was yours." It's a matter of trust.
