do you think officers are shooting people?

I don't think officers are 'shooting people' as you allude. I definitely agree more children are turning to crime, which may make them more violent and cause a gun fight

Gun violence is definitely more of a problem now than before, but it really depends on where you are talking about. Statistically inner city neighborhoods see a higher rate of gun violence, but it happens across the world throughout carious demographics.

Bottom line- The bad economy makes crime worse, which may lead to gun violence, but I would not say Police are shooting people more.
