Atheists, do you like Christian music?
This is not a troll question. I'm an Agnostic Atheist, but for some reason I enjoy Christian music. I like artists such, Joy Williams, Bethany Dillion, Britt Nicole, etc. Is there anyone else who is like this, too?
@Mercuri: I don't like it if it's overly religious. I like Christian pop. Sometimes I just want to listen to something inspirational. I know you can get that with other types of music.

Depends on the song/musician. If I do, I like it for the music itself and the emotion in the song- songs which make you feel like the singer believes what they're singing are hard to find in conventional pop music, which is all just run through dubstep and synthesizers. Baba Yetu is a good example of Christian music that I like.

Tune can also be interpreted many different approaches. You might like the music given that your lady friend enjoys it, or on account that it has a catchy beat. Otherwise you could consider its just a humorous track and that is why you find it irresistible. In some Christian rock bands some songs will not be even dedicated to christ. One band i love that's categorised as christian band is incubus. I relate some songs to helping me recover from a prior relationship or about a new crush i have. Plenty of christian song has excellent morals in it or studies. Just considering that i do not suppose in christ doesn't suggest I must hate there track. There are good lesson to gain knowledge of in one of the most song. Just due to the fact that we would not have religion doesn't mean we can not enjoy or appreciate your christian music. Hope this answer helps reply your query.

Yeah, some Blues is a bit Christian and Blues is always good.
There are many inspirational Christian Classical pieces.
Much better than all that insipid and inane Christopop.
Which, quite frankly, is embarrassing.

We sing religious songs in choir, and our conductor (and the person who chooses the music, mostly) is atheist, for starters. Some of those songs are actually our favourites.
So yes, I listen to it and sing it. But it doesn't mean I take it literally.

No, not at all. I have no problem with the occassional song that mentions god or jesus or whatever, but music that is specifically made by christians, for christians, is usually pretty insipid. Christian rock is especially dire.

I used to listen to Rich Mullins and probably could again, if I wanted to, without it making me crave Jesus.
(He was a rare Christian who actually lived out his faith helping others in need, before being killed in a car accident. Way to watch over him, God.)

I like the song Amazing Grace, but without the lyrics and only when it's performed on the bagpipes.

No. Music is beautiful.
"Jeeeeeesuu<voice crack>s is lord! Jeeeeeesuhhsss is lord!"
Is not beautiful. If I wanted to listen to some redneck's views on life, I would listen to country
But if you mean Christian bands, well, Megadeth is probably it.

Im not trying to be one of those people who are like 'ooh believe in God and Hes so great and your wrong!!' and that stuff, cause I think its mean for people to judge your beliefs. But I am just trying to give a suggestion. And I think you should at least TRY to believe and accept God. Be open to the idea. :) please? :) God IS amazing, and it makes me sad to think that so many people wont experience His love. and it makes me even SADDER to think about how many people reject God and cause Him such pain. Please be open to it. :) Pray to Him. Just talk to God, when there is no one to talk to. :) I do that and it makes me feel really peaceful :) Please try it. :)
