Music and the Movies! What are your favourite songs inspired by movies...?

...the songs may mention a movie, actor/actress, a particular line of dialogue or anything related to the big screen, including the experience of going to/being in a movie theatre - it's all good!

I thought I'd ask a question which marries my love for music with that of the silver screen, having finalized my arrangements for the annual film-fest-feast that is the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

This looks like the best lineup ever for TIFF - can't wait!

Music is littered with movie references some somewhat obscure, others very obvious...

MQ: What are your favourite songs inspired by movies? ..any movie reference within the title or lyrics will do. :)

A few of mine...

The Kinks - "Celluloid Heroes"

I'm totally drawing a blank on the 'big question'... but can at least come up with something for these:

BQ: Favourite music-themed movie? The Blues Brothers

BQ2: Favourite movie soundtrack or score? Almost Famous

BQ3: Favourite placement of a song in a movie? In The Big Chill when Kevin Kline puts on the Temptations and they're all cleaning up after dinner.

The Union Forever(White Stripes) & Citizen Kane

Well there's always the Misty Mountain Hop & LOTR.

Another favorite is "Soma" by the Strokes, inspired by Brave New World.

I guess Im kinda cheating with the last 2 because they were inspired by the novel & not the movie.

BQ: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

    BQ2: Kill Bill Vol. 2

BQ3: "Girl, you'll be a woman soon"- in Pulp Fiction right before Uma Thurman overdosed.

BQ4: Jack White in Cold Mountain

    "Soylent Green" by Iced Earth

I love Iced Earth, and I love the movie Soylent Green. What could be better than a song about a movie about food made out of people?

    EDIT: Woops forgot the BA:P

    BQ: Sweeny Todd.

BQ2: Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, 28 Weeks Later, and the awesome scifi movie "Moon"

BQ3: When the song starts playing at the end of the opening scene of 28 Weeks Later as he is running away to the small boat while his family and friends are left in the house. It's intense.

BQ4: I'm really not entirely certain to be honest with you :p

I've got dreams to remember from Dream a little Deam movie with the two Corey's(Feldman and Haim). I also liked the Robert Downey JR version of Every breath you take on Ally Mcbeal- I know it's just a tv show.
