Obviously the superstars like Phelps and Bolt make vast sums of money from their sport. However, what about those athletes who compete in less popular sports in which there is little money or those athletes who make up the numbers and go out in the first round?
How many Olympic athletes are there who have to get a regular job in order to pay the bills and cannot afford to concentrate full time on their sport?

Depends on the sport. But most competitive athletes have to work full time in order to compete for a medal.

Yes, they will all probably return to their normal lives with normal daytime jobs after the Olympics have finished lol
