A Billy Conn Question. ?
Conn with masterful boxing made it to the 13th. with the great Joe Louis. Trade Louis with Dempsey. How far does Conn go with a prime Jack? Less ? all the Way? your take.
Wow ! some really good answers on here. Hairydude makes some good points. but so does 'nobody', and 'nothing' has great points as well. This is gonna be hard to choose, between the hippy and nobody and nothing. Looks like nothing really gives Hairydude a run for his money.
Edit @ Hairy - No doubt my friend. Or, Maybe many are not 'True' boxing fans, you know the arm-chair fly bye night bed wetter types. Or a low boxing I.Q. Or they had a different opinion than you, but were afraid to answer and have you debate their britches off. Or they could not add anything other than you already had, because of your selfish hog it all answer. Or they did not want embarrass you with a real style comment, resulting in you becoming frustrated and pulling your long flowing golden locks out. Or....
It just wouldn't be me if i didn't give you a hard time lad.
Jeez, did Thug already get deleted again?

Good question once again, you don't know how much we need legit boxing fans on here at the moment. Hope everything has smoothed out for you lately.
I actually think that Conn does worse against Dempsey than he did against Louis, Louis was the more technical fighter than Dempsey, they were about equal in power, (Dempsey may edge brute strength but Louis' technique evens that out) but Dempsey was faster of foot than Louis and more ferocious.
One thing I loved about Dempsey's fights were that he fought for his life, not just to win. He had to fight this way in the mining camps, railroads, boxcars and barrooms and he took that all the way to the heavyweight title.
He would not let a light heavyweight take his title. Remember Dempsey fought another light heavyweight pin up, Carpentier, look what happened.
Conn was far better than Carpentier in my opinion but Jack was asked to let Carpentier go a few rounds because of the massive crowd and filming. I am assuming that against Conn Dempsey is no nonsense so he would do as he always did and try to end it early.
He would have more success at cutting the ring off than Louis, look at the first 30 seconds of the Willard fight, Dempsey moves very well, against Tunney he was past his best but as a younger man he could cut off the ring well.
I see Dempsey ending it in three, Conn gives his all but is over matched.
Dempsey KO3.
Edit: @Celticbrawler: This forum, a question about who would win between two pop stars or a derogatory question about Mayweather or Pacquiao will get dozens of answers but you post a legit boxing question and nobody wants to answer!
