Problems with DVD Upconversion?
I recently bought a Hi Def TV, HDMI cable, and a Blu Ray player touting DVD up-conversion. The box says "1080P Up-Scaling: View Standard DVDs in Near HD"
The Blu Rays look great, but the DVDs look...terrible. Everything is blurry, grainy, and just it looks horrible, almost unwatchable. Am I missing something? Are there any common settings that I can look out for? Or do up-converted DVDs just look bad?
I can provide more specific details if needed.

Often times this is some setting that is not right either in the TV or in the Blu ray player first make sure the blu ray player is set to progressive scan 1080P blu ray movies will usually automatically go to this format not so for DVD...also try Bitstream as opposed to PCM this could be a setting in both the TV and the Blu ray player...it may be some other setting also particular to your TV or Blu ray player so just try and get it to work through trial and error....also read the manual for the Blu ray player on how to do progressive scan 1080P...
