my P.C. will not connect to internet explorer after i let it sit for a few hrs?

i dont know why but i have to press the button on the tower to turn it off it will not restart without doing this.then after i do that and it starts up again it works fine till i leave it sit for awhile. what can i do its a gateway gt5473e

Update:

its on never sleep now and still i have this problem please help

    Go to your Control Panel and click on Power Options and adjust your settings so the computer never sleeps until you find the cause of the problem.
