If humans are imperfect and make mistakes, how did the Bible writers know?

That it was the voice of God they heard and not the voice of the Devil disguised as God to trick mankind into worshipping falsely? This would explain Bible contradictions, right? How can you say the bible is the true and unerring word of God if the writers were men and men are prone to making mistakes?

Perhaps you, too, are mistaken?

Update:

Kenshin, that is a different thing all together. Jesus was casting out demons, agents of Satan. If the bible writers were unknowingly writing words as influenced by Satan, it wouldn't be detrimental to his kingdom, but instead would further his cause in gaining souls for hell.

If these even exist, of course. I believe there are good and evil entities in this world, but they are both to be balanced, because without evil, there is no good, and vice versa.

Update 2:

@Misty, you said yourself that the Bible had many writers, and if this is the argument for there being contradictions, it is safe to say that since there are many writers with different opinions, thaen they were not divinely guided, as one God would have spoken to them all equally. Bible is not the word of God, it is the word of multiple men.

as Jesus said, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." believers have the Holy Spirit. as always, we are to "test all things (against Scripture) and hold fast to what is right." this way, there is no mistaking the Lord's voice.
