Why is Paul Ryan against earmarks when he got $5 mil for his own state?

Same as Ron Pual and his little slight of hand. Get the earmarks in and then when the budget is sure to be passed, vote no. Political shell games.

He had 3 "earmark" request, which were all under transportation. Transportation projects are actually funded from the federal government and congress allocates the money to the states. This is a legitimate appropriation of funds, since the Feds are the ones who fund these projects. (that is what your taxes you pay when you get gas are supposed to fund).

Earmarking and sending money to companies, specific industries, political organizations, or individuals is what people have a problem with. Michelle Bachmann would be a better example of hypocritical rhetoric. Anything outside of transportation or national security should be paid for by the states. It's the process, not the idea of having them. He cites a couple he believes are wasteful and how he believes the process is corrupt after lawmakers went to prison. Earmarks were only considered bad starting in 2005, unacceptable in 2008. The hypocrisy charges come before 2009. By the way, I personally want earmarks back.

He is against earmarks except his own. Makes perfect sense when all that matters is getting re-elected. Talk the talk,but don't walk the walk.
