Picking out a laptop for school?
I need to pick out a laptop for school.
I'm going to a small college where my professors will know me (and what I'm doing)
My budget is around $800
I plan to major in psychology or social work
I don't do any video editing or stuff like that.
It needs to be able to run iTunes and a YouTube video once in a while, that's all.
Ideally, I'd like it to be able to run the Sims 3.
My mom and I have been through the wringer with sales pitches telling me what I "need," I know enough about computers that they are clearly trying to rip me off.
If you need anymore information, let me know.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Much Obliged,
Jenna

Most of the cheaper laptops these days should be able to run Sims 3, My laptop is about a year or so old and was only around $800 (AUD) and I have no problems running Sims 3 with all the the expansions, admittedly only on Medium settings, but meh.
Mine is only a duel core i3 and has 8GG of ram... (originally had 4GB) but if you know enough about computers you can always increase RAM yourself for a lot cheaper than a computer store will charge (I [payed $25 for the RAM stick lol) and my graphics card is a fairly low end.
Only problem I have is it takes a while to load with all expansions and ALT+TABBING to switch windows whilst in game can sometimes be a pain and cause the game to crash, but that's usually after I've done it a few times :D
Oh and iTunes and youtube, have no problems at all :) runs perfectly, unless my net is being slow and crap :)
Good Luck, hope you find one that does what you need
