I'm in Anor Londo at the bonfire before Smough and Ornstein, have no humanity, no souls and have been stuck here for about 6 hours continuously fighting the boss and keep losing. when i had humanity i summoned the phantom and still couldnt get it and am now forced to do it solo and still cant do it. ive watched a ton of youtube vids and read strategies but still cant beat them. any other tips? its really starting to piss me off now. this is dumb

Well, if you just want to get the fight out of the way, focus on Ornstein first. He is infinitely the harder of the two and you DO NOT want to have him turn into Ornsteroids.

With that said, just make sure you know where the both of them are at all times. Smough is pretty slow and can be stopped by putting one of the pillars between you and him. Ornstein is a bit trickier (due to his smaller hit box and faster speed), but that will work just as well. Rember that they can still damage you from the other side of the pillar if you stay too close. Also, just run from run end of the room to the other. Smough will end up one side and Ornstein will Flash Step toward you and you'll have them both separated for a bit. Take that time to damage Ornstein, being as cautious as you would be normally, and you can have him beat.

DON'T GET COCKY! You wouldn't believe how many people i've seen get one or the other down to low health and start chaining their attacks because they feel more confident, then die. Always play it safe.

For a really, really, really, really, really easy fight, bring Toxic Dung Pies with you, and some Blooming Purple Moss in case you toxify yourself. Since it's a long trek, i'd say around 30 Dung Pies and 5 Blooming Purple Mosses just in case you die.You can buy them from the Female Undead Merchant inside the bridge right outside of Firelink. Get Ornstein separated and throw the dung pies at him until he starts taking Damage over Time. Even if you don't attack him, he'll die on his own after a while. It's still suggested you keep attacking him (unless you just can't seem to) as it will take a while. Then do the same for Super Smough. This works just as well if you kill Smough first, just make sure to toxify Ornsteroids when you have a pillar between the both of you then just use the pillars as protection. I'm pretty sure if you put enough distance between you and him he'll start lightning spamming. He can break his cycle of course, but you'll then have a pillar between the both of ya.

Like the other poster mentioned, the combat is fairly easy if what to do. And that i accept as true with him too - just run prior the ****** guardians and zone into the boss battle - they won't follow you. I didn't use Solaire for the fight (I infrequently use him though, i love to avoid wasting my Humanity). Zone in and they will charge you right away. Maintain your preserve up at all times when you're now not attacking. This can be a kite fight - meaning you'll be jogging backwards via most of the combat and they are going to follow you. Focal point on Ornstein first as Smough is easier to kill when Ornstein dies (versus killing Smough first and going through tremendous charged Ornstein). Smough will hit you through the pillars, an extra reason why you'll be going for walks backwards or doing hit-and-runs during the fight. When you've got pyromancy, sorcery, or range, just plink Ornstein down after each lunge assault he does. Once it can be just Smough, he is extremely good fat and gradual, and you can do the identical system for him - plink him down from a distance. Cheers

that was my hardest fight by far. kill ornstein (fast spear guy) first. just keep running around until he gets a good distance away from smough then attack him. run in between the columns to get distance between the bosses. once hes dead put a column between you and smough and get close to the column so he starts to attack. he should attack but not actually hit u since the column is blocking but back off a little bit just in case then run over and hit him a few times.

the key to this fight is patience and striking once or twice when you have an opportunity. dont try to do tons of damage at once. just poke when u can get run away. once ornstein is dead the fight gets MUCH easier
