Metal Fans: Thoughts on this song?

The new Bound by Entrails album is probably my favourite of the year so far, and have been listening to this song quite abit the last month. I would describe it as a mix between modern Enslaved and Agalloch. This song is all clean vocals, but the album mixes the two styles very well

MQ: Thoughts on the song?

BQ: favourite song released this year?

Update:

***I actually found both Mars Volta songs recommended here as being pretty good...I didn't know Anathema put out a new album, but its also not too bad. I think from first listen i prefer Alternative 4 but will have to check out more songs

Update 2:

that Correlations song was also good, like the accoustic beginning and alto of variety in the song

Hey tron! Good to see you around again, my account got banhammered so this is my new one I've started working on.

I have to run, I'm in between jobs at the moment, but I'm going to listen to the song and edit my response when I'm back home. Promise! I've heard partial parts of the album, my cousin was telling me it's great.

EDIT: Okay, I'm out. I really like this song, I have to get the album. The clean vocals almost remind me of Swallow the Sun's clean vocals, though a higher octave and not as depressing. So not much like them, but something reminded me of it. Sort of the same way I hear Mikael Akerfeldt in a lot of songs. In fact...

Anyways, Good stuff, and I really enjoyed the instrumentals of it. I checked out another of their songs in the link, and am going to purchase the album come Friday when I do my other album purchasing. I'm excited to get the rest, so I'm not going to go off into the other songs yet. I really enjoyed the slight differences in the song 3:10 onward.

BQ: It has to be "Empty Vessels Make the Loudest Sound" by The Mars Volta, or "Tragedy and Harmony" by Jeff Loomis, it happens to be one of the few non-instrumental songs of his. Something about the girls singing, it's almost like a male power metal vocalist, it's different.

It's entirely possible that the professor will turn in grades close to the last possible minute. This could be for one of several reasons, one of the most important being that in an accelerated class, if you're going to have a lot of graded work (which tends to result in higher student grades), it is very difficult to find the time to get it all graded. Yes, it might be less frustrating to students (and professors) if, instead of having a lot of graded work, there was only a final exam or a final paper, the way many classes used to work when I was a student -- but that's going to result in students getting lower grades, and that's something else that students often complain about.

Really awesome man, I can't get enough of that guitar playing. It reminds me of Alcest, and the vocals are like a Power ballad. Really nice.

BQ: I don't really notice when the music I listen to is released, but here is one I know that came out this year.

Pretty good. It's got that sort of folk feel to it (especially at the acoustic parts), which is my favourite thing about it. Good lyrics too.

By the way, you have one of the coolest avatars ever!!

    SIGH FTW!!

Hail Horror Hail is one of my favourite albums and album covers of all time.

MQ: Not bad. Kinda reminds me of one of Iced Earth's softer songs. :)

BQ: Probably not your cup of tea but so far, my favorite track from this year is "In Absentia" by The Mars Volta.

Honestly, it didn't really do too much for me. Then again my fave metal is really old (Black Sabbath w/ Ozzy, Metallica before Cliff died, Megadeth before Countdown etc.) But to each his own, not a bad song either
