The liberal plan is flawed, why cant they see it?

Taxing the rich will only make them send more jobs overseas. Once they do that, there will be even more people on government assistance. Which requires more money... from the rich. Money they wont have anymore.

Update:

... but i have gotten so many compliments on that picture... Is it the hat? lol

Update 2:

I did even more reading on this topic. and... well. democrates say pretty much what most of you said, BUT conservatives basically said the opposite, both sides citing facts. I'll have to re-post this question another time.

Actually, I agree to a certain point. And it is agenda-driven media coverage that proclaims "The rich only pay 15% in taxes!!" and never goes on to describe that that 15% in dollars and cents is actually more taxes paid by them in one year than you, me and 12 other middle class people will actually MAKE in a lifetime.

But setting up a complicated and confusing tax code that allows many of the rich to not pay any taxes at all is counter-productive as well. Furthermore, we should all experience some pain when it comes to paying taxes, and it should be somewhat proportional. Some guy making $100,000,000 a year is NOT experiencing a whole lot of pain if he has to pay $15,000,000 of that in taxes ever year...whereas someone who makes $50,000 a year does feel much more pain if he has to pay the same 15% ($7,500).

EDIT: And to those people (I assume they are liberals) who say this question is nothing new, and then respond by saying back when taxes were higher the on-shore economy was just fine...well that is pretty dated thinking too! Back in that day when as a percentage of buying power our taxes MAY have been higher (and that is debatable) there wasn't sufficient international infrastructure or the political logistics to ship jobs overseas...or THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN. C'mon...shipping jobs overseas to China was simply NOT an option in the 1950s. Anyone remember something called The Cold War?

I think a simplified tax code that requires everyone (including the poor) to pay SOME proportionally painful share of the taxes is what this country needs, accompanied by a stringent reduction in government waste (yes, there is still tons and tons of wasteful government spending).

I don't call that a "liberal" plan or a "conservative" plan...just a common sense one.

Sound reasoning, but you're premise is flawed. You're assuming that the tax on the rich will make them not rich anymore, but this is inherently false. Right now the President is asking for a 3% increase on income tax from anyone making over $250,000. Do you really think multi-millionaires will give a **** over a relatively small amount for them? Plus they are already putting jobs overseas, and putting money in accounts overseas that pay no tax at all. Also what you're suggesting is the populace being controlled and dominated over by the wealthy. It's called a democracy because all people get a say.

"If you pay ppl bicycle wages then they buy bicycles" Walter Reuther

"If you pay people car wages then they can buy your cars " Henry Ford

The fatal flaw in the Con plan is that sooner or later Americans won't even be able to afford to buy the products that were made overseas....and that will have a very negative effect on the rich

You aren't paying attention. Corporations are making record profits under Obama. Obama has NOT called for raising corporate tax rates. In fact, he's called for lowering corporate tax rates for all businesses that keep jobs in America.

Then with the Bush/Obama tax cuts we should have seen a big jump in jobs, right?

    Oh, yeah that didn't happen.

Look back on our history, our economy is always strongest when tax rates are high.

Please explain why taxing the rich will result in jobs going overseas. Those ideas don't fit together.

I'm pretty sure jobs go overseas mostly because labor is cheaper there. There are also other factors, but that's the big one.

Liberals have a mental disorder, says doctor

    March 17, 2011

'A veteran psychiatrist now claims that liberalism is a mental disorder, not purely a political choice.

'"Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded," said Dr. Lyle Rossiter, author of the new book, The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness.

'"Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave."'

    Scientists Find 'Liberal Gene'

"According to scientists at UC San Diego and Harvard University, "ideology is affected not just by social factors, but also by a dopamine receptor gene called DRD4." That and how many friends you had during high school.

"It is the crucial interaction of two factors - the genetic predisposition and the environmental condition of having many friends in adolescence - that is associated with being more liberal," according to the study.

"These findings suggest that political affiliation is not based solely on the kind of social environment people experience," said Fowler, who is a professor of political science and medical genetics.

"The researchers also said their findings held true no matter what the ethnicity, culture, sex or age of the subjects were."

The left wing agenda is so obviously faulty that nobody could possibly support it unless they personally profit from it, even though they know it works to the detriment of society as a whole.

They are the ones who would happily bankrupt the country, as long as they knew part of the money will end up in their pockets.

This is the effect of the DRD4 gene - a willingness to be oblivious to truth and reality, in a focused obsessive pursuit of one specific goal that has become a point of fixation. It has been suggested that DRD4 is closely related to the gene that causes attention deficit disorder.

Liberals clearly lose all awareness or concern for other issues when they fixate on one singular goal, which they pursue with mindless fanaticism regardless of what destructive effects their pursuit will have, even on themselves.

The ten years of Bush tax cuts and 800k jobs a month went to China. Who's plan is flawed?

"Taxing the rich will only make them send more jobs overseas."

That's nonsense. When the top bracket was over 80% industry in this country was thriving.

hmmm... I've seen MANY, MANY jobs going overseas over the past 10 years with the lowest tax rates in 70 years?

maybe we shoudl do something about that? instead of working to lower the taxes more?
