How do I tame my hamster?
This is not your average new hamster taming session. My brother got this hamster from Pets at home like a month ago. This hamster was like already a month old and lived on his own. Well in that 1month and 2 weeks he played with it and stuff but not much like most days but not for too long. This hamster never got tame cause of this and my bro has been bit a lot. He now wants to rid of this hamster but I saved it and I now look after it. I have had it for about 2 days (its not moved house or cage so its not scared of the new environment) and it is quite difficult. It's like a tiny bit tame. I'll give you some details on it.. I tried putting treats in my hand (this is were my brother got to) but once it eats the treats it stays around my hand and ends up biting me or if I opt to take my hand out while he has like a paw on me he'll hang on and bite. (I make sure I used a different hand to put the treat on the hand that gets bitten so no scent is of food is on it I also washed my hands). If I try to just go in and pick it up I bites me. Once it is picked up tho it is alright, it tries to get out but doesnt go mental. I tried gloves but it reacts the same as if it were a hand. Now I have been bitten a lot I'm scared to play with it as it hurts when I get bit and some times draws blood. It is a female syrian hamster. I assume as she lived on her own she was last of her litter to be bought and so stayed there for a while.
My questions are..
Is it too late to tame it fully its about 2-3 months old.
How do I tame this hamster! My brother and I tried many techniques which one is best! And any tips?!
I think I discovered the source of biting. She doesn't seem to like it when She doesn't have all her paws on my hand and I lift my hand so she bites me. Well this does seme to eb the main reason

Pet and hold her AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!
That lets her know you are helping her and your her owner now.
You shouldn't be scared.
Maybe try wearing some protective gloves so she doesn't smell sent on your hands.
it isn't to late The usual lifespan of a hamster is a year or a little over she in't that old.
Just try holding her and giving her lots of treats!
Hope i helped goo luck!

Don't let a little hamster scare you. I know, it is a bit scary, I have gerbils who sometimes nibble and it DOES indeed hurt. Now, to try and help you, here's some tips:
Whenever you put your hand it, try to make it as flat as possible. Whenever the hamster bites you, let out a big puff of air and say "No" very firmly. Rodents hate when you do this, so she'll learn and stop. Once you have the biting solved, try to get her used to hands being in her cage. Maybe while you're watching television, just let your hand sit in the cage so she can crawl over it and sniff it. Do this a few times a day. Once she's used to your hand, whenever you pick her up, put her in a hamster ball or set up a playpen that she can just roam around in, so she'll associate your hand with fun and exciting things.
Hope I helped, good luck with the her! :D

you pick up your hamster very carfully and do not sqeeze it, pick it up every day and after a while it will get used to your scent. Then your hamster should trust you and know that you are not gonna hurt him/her! keep giving it treats and buy it new toys every once and a while! she will then love you as his/her trainer! hopes this helped!
