Do you know any other popular songs with only one chord?
Listening to the radio; heard Wilson Pickett doing "Land of a Thousand Dances" and I thought:are there any other rock, pop, soul, R and B etc. songs that are played on only one chord?
(I don't think rap can count here because it's too unlike the others)

There was a band called The Stooges and a man called Jim Osterberg who was from a hard hit town, Detroit, at the turn of the 70s after Henry Ford's plans got messed up and started going down hill. There were a lot of workers who got the Mississippi delta blues, and would work 12 hour shifts and their backs broke, and Jim Osterberg would stand up beside these electrical pylons and listen to the sound, like a Tibetan monk sound, one straight sound, one note, one chord. So he took this and brought it in through The Stooges. The point is, you do not need to have a carpenter's apprentice approach to your guitar, as long as you've got soul, and you can get up there and believe it and feel it, because all you need is one chord.

Any Punk Rock song. Wait, they can't even play instruments.
