Does anyone else think therapy is useless?

I've been going to therapy for 2 years and I'm even more depressed than when I started...I've had three therapists who just sit and talk to you, and charge you ridiculous amounts of money, Anyone else agree that therapy is a waste?

My mother has me go to a therapist, too. I hate it and, if anything, makes me more depressed. They don't realize it makes you feel different. I'm terrified going there in case that I'm teased at school for it (yes, petty, but I can't help it).

Therapy did help me with abuse issues, very much, but has never helped with severe depression which is more or less chronic. At least therapy didn't hurt. The so-called medications made me much worse off for 15 years. I think self help stuff works best, but I still have depression. At least I suffer less by doing self soothing stuff.

You got out of it, what you put in. Being more depressed does not mean it isn't benefiting you in the long run.
