Difference between Polyester and Acrylic fur fabric?
I was wondering what the difference was between Polyester and Acrylic/Modacrylic faux fur fabric. Which would be considered a better quality? I recently found polyester faux fur that looks like what I need to match the fur I currently have (color and texture). However, what I currently have is a mix of acrylic/modacrylic, the stuff I found is Polyester. I am unsure if I should get the polyester because it's a different material., and they do not offer swatches for me to order.

If you need an exact match, it's unlikely that you're going to find one, particularly if the fabric you're trying to match is a few years old. It is also unlikely that two fabrics, made side by side, one of acrylic/modacrylic and the other of polyester (or any different fiber or blend) will match exactly in all features -- color, texture, crimp, feel (hand), how it takes dyes, how it drapes and behaves.
Do you know who made the first piece you own? If so, I'd try looking for stores that carry that manufacturer, and failing that, ask the manufacturer if they can help you find it.
