Do you think that Game of Thrones would benefit better as a movie series?

For one thing, production budget would be so much higher and better represent the book descriptions.

I would want Peter Jackson to direct it.

The first book into one movie.

The second book into another.

The third book split into 2 parts.

The fourth and fifth books combined and split into 3 parts.

Yes and no, but probably mostly no.

Pros. The bigger budget would ensure that adequate extras and special effects could be used:

    - We wouldn't have to watch Stannis storming Kings Landing with 25 men

    - Tyrion could really lose his nose

    - They wouldn't have to combine characters to save money

    - Maybe they could improve on some effects, the dragons so far have been rather weak and obviously CGI; but on the other hand, the "others" were surprisingly good, and could probably not be bettered

Cons, There really is only one, but it is critical:

    - A movie lasts a maximum of two and a half hours. Each HBO series lasts around 10 hours, and still has to drop or simplify plot-lines. To fit everything GRRM has written into your proposed 7 movies would give a maximum of about 18 hours (and require significant rewriting and simplification), against roughly 50 hours for the TV series. If it was just about one great battle scene, a movie would make sense, but the actual story is about characters, and they need to be explained, their motives need to be explored, it simply isn't possible to tell those stories that quickly - even HBO are having problems with the 10 hours per book format!

I would love to see some Song of Fire and Ice movies, but if they are ever produced, it would be like comparing Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies to the 13 hour BBC audio production - both great, but for different reasons. Just be glad that the books are being produced in a different medium, but never stop hoping for more!

Just imagine this season one and two had 10 episodes each of about 45mins[approx.]

it means 45mins multiplied by 20 = 15 hours worth of video

that's 5 movies of 3 hours and realeasing 5 movies will have a gap of at least 6 months or more between each movie. that makes it about 3 years and that's not even taking into account the amount of time lost in production, scheduling so many actors and locking them down in only one project for such a long time and so much more.

and you can't really show so much nudity in a movie :P

i assure you the tv series will be more in depth and cover so much more of the minor details then a sharply edited movie.

If you wish to observe it.. you ought to watch it from the very starting. Its now not a kind of indicates you'll be able to simply soar into at any time. The specific households combating over the throne make for one very tricky and complicated exhibit except you start correct on the begin. The well factor is that every commencing series foreshadows wherein we will be able to be getting in every episode. Not to say the gore, the combating, the wolves.. and the thriller of what lies past the wall. If you ought to watch it for whatever... do it for Peter Dinklage's efficiency. He does an potent activity with the individual of Tyrion Lannister, the imp! He gained the Emmy final yr for exceptional assisting actor for that function.

no absolutely not. making movies of this massive saga wuld be worst idea.

game of thrones is all about characters, families, culture and difrrent kingdoms and so many events. in such short duration u cant show that much depth, colorful and dark secrets hidden inside every character. movies will lead to total mess.

That's a good idea, and from IMDb, MANY people love Game of Thrones, including me. So I think it would've been so much better they make it into movies instead of a TV series. Good point you have there!
