Whats South Carolina like?

Hi, so basically I was bored and started writing a book. Some of it takes place in America and I decided South Carolina. But I've never actually been to South Carolina. What's the weather like? Does it rain much? How warm/cold is it in the winter/summer. Is it usually sunny or cloudy? This may sound stupid but what's it look like? Like, I'm irish, and everywhere you look, theres green. Green moss, trees, grass... Are there much forests? I don't really know how to ask this one, I'm not being racist, is it mainly white people or black people living here, or a half mix of the two or?? Thanks.

It is warm, humid and rains fairly often if you're by the coast. Usually it is very sunny and hot, even in the winter the temperature doesn't usually drop below 60 F. Generally the people are very nice and the population varies greatly depending on the region. Some areas are historically black while other areas are mostly filled with white people (usually by the coast). The most popular destination for travel in SC is a small island of the coast called Hilton Head Island. The island is mostly nature preserves but is home to some very nice resorts and has a deep history involving a battle that took place there during the civil war. The state is mostly all forests. The forests are a mix of green and tan in color. The trees are usually covered in spanish moss. There is a lot of low-lying shrubs and plants but not much in the way of natural flowers. The ground is often covered in dried up pine needles which fall of the southern pine trees native to the state. People often use the dead pine needles as a substitute for mulch in their gardens. It really is a quiet, peaceful place that is home to some of the most beautiful wildlife in America. I hope this helps!!

Source(s): I travel there quite often.

A local New Yorker and generally Floridian, I continuously make a factor of making a relaxation-stop in South Carolina after I move by means of there going from side to side through automobile. Beautiful, and welcoming! From the everyday humans at a roadside Waffle condominium to the patrician charm of Charleston, you are going to find the folks there astonishingly heat and friendly, each to at least one one more and to strangers. As a minimum that has been my expertise. Whether or not or now not racial prejudices stay from olden days is something that, as a White, I can't appropriately address. I'll say, though, that having grown up in the segregated Memphis of the '50's that the racial bias so on the whole attributed to the Southern heartland is to my intellect so much much less pernicious than what you to find on either side in areas that wish to consider of themselves as "progressive" -- and that goes for humans of all races and political slants. I've on no account been to Myrtle seaside myself, but feel sure that you'll have now not only a pleasant trip there, but in addition expertise so much of what's first-class about the us and americans. And i without doubt would now not be all set to say the identical in case you have been going to discuss with, say, Portland or ny where tribalism reigns -- either openly antagonistic or disguised as "Political Correctness".
